Exactly what I wanted light weight and strong with increased cutting leverage,I use these in my commercial business so only buy tools I know are going to be reliable and effective. I have alwayd found Fiskars tools to be long lasting and well made.

Excellent shears that certainly lived up to the reviews I’d seen. Easy to use, whilst being light and extremely sharp.

Have used one of these for around 15yrs, and found it hugely reliable. My current one has recently begun to be worn on the black plastic central joint, the teeth slipping and leaving the blades at an angle. Because of design have been able to repeatedly tighten the nuts on the bolts in past years, but I think it's just gone too far now, so have ordered another. Can really recommend this item, and in fact was looking for a long handled version, but couldn't find one. Don't bother with the cheaper makes and models, go for quality, sharpen, oil & take care of it & you won't regret your purchase.

My gardener broke my Fiskars so these are my second pair. They are brilliant for middle weight gardening. I used them to shear our hedge which is quite big and for clipping back some of the trees in the garden. They're smooth, sharp, comfortable and quite light so ideal for a lady like me. My husband likes to use them too. The last pair we had lasted 2 years and didn't get blunt, we never sharpened them. They only broke when the gardener used them for a very thick branch which is not what they're for. Highly recommend!

These are the best shears I've ever used - light, well-balanced, comfortable but (because of the gearing) powerful. I've given mine quite hard use on everything from grass to quite thick beech hedging and they have remained sharp and without any play developing in the mechanism. Unfortunately, as other reviewers have noted, the plastic gearing will break sooner or later; mine lasted two seasons.

There are many hedge shears on the market and I did a lot of research before selecting these - and I'm very pleased with my choice. They are not the cheapest model you could find - but you get what you pay for! This shear is ideal for a mixed variety of medium height hedge and bush work. The gearing mechanism at the blade base significantly reduces arm-jarring, whilst a decent blade length enables a more even cut - and can cope with quite robust material. A useful feature is that part of the packaging has a detachable, sturdy, clear plastic safety-cover for the blades when the shear is in storage. It is recommended to wipe the shear blade down with a rag directly after use. If sap residue is allowed to build up, the blade will become hard to use or even jam. (This can be remedied by using a rag and methylated spirits.) A good tip before every cut is to lightly spray the blades with WD-40. The overall weight of this tool is described as 0.78kg. which is fairly light compared with some competitors. The only thing which lets this shear down is the hard plastic handle design. Fiskars (the product's Finnish company) could have improved ease of use if the handles had been rubberised. Using a decent pair of leather gloves does help to reduce the problem.

Very good quality shears. These are sharp and give the impression of lasting a long time. The gears allow for easy, low input - high output, cutting. Bare in mind though that as with all of these PowerGear tools that you have to open the handles quite far to get the blades right open (I thought it would be the other way round but thinking about it, its much better this way as you get a stronger cut from less effort) Had a go with some cheapies at a friend's and very glad I spent the extra!

Never having tried hedging before, I can't say that I have anything to compare these shears to, but in practice these shears did a really good job and are relatively easy to use, cutting through some tough woody material as well as the leave steams - I had a lot of overgrown ivy to tame. I went to a local DIY store and looked at all of the available products in this category; I tried them out in the store, feeling for ease of use, comfort, etcetera. These Fiskars were the in store undisputed winners. More expensive than the others but a pleasure to use. A really nice product.

Comprate per tagliare i rami di una bouganville e portarli a pari con la ringhiera, le cesoie si sono mostrate perfettamente funzionanti e utili. Non ho mai riscontrato particolari difficoltà nel taglio, nè tantomento segni di cedimento del sistema a cremagliera. Si riescono a tagliare, forzando un pò, rami di discreto diametro, tuttavia sta all' utilizzatore capire quando è meglio rinunciare per non danneggiarle. Considerando che le possiedo da DUE anni e che non le ho mai affilate, non posso che considerarle un ottimo acquisto. Ad oggi sono perfettamente funzionanti e pertanto le CONSIGLIO.
