Polaroid Cube HD 1080p Lifestyle Action Video Camera (Red)

This is a good little camera. I have four of them now, and for the £30 they cost at time of writing, they're great value. I use two of them when motorbiking - one on the bike, one on my crash helmet. The one on the bike is connected to the bike's power (it is three years old now, and doesn't charge any more), so no battery worries, the newer one on my lid gets charged each time I use it. The video quality for me is gopro level. sharp, good colour, works reasonably well in low light, easily good enough as a dashcam type device. Being so small, you can tape them to almost anything, and the magnet is powerful enough to stick to the bonnet of a moving car. Downsides - you need a computer or playback device to get the video off of it. There is no way to view it otherwise, and it can't work as a webcam, i.e. live video. For £30, no brainer.

For something so small to do so much, its certainly worthwhile to have. First its easy to use. All you do is press the button and its on. Take a photo, press the button. Take video, press it twice. All you need is a micro SD card and away you go. It can take a 32gb card which will take plenty of photos and video. With the magnet, you can put it and it will stick. I put this on my bicycle handlebar and cycle 20mph and it doesn't come off. This is very handy as it films my cycle routes. The film quality even at 720p is good and clear. You can take many photos which are standard but ok. That the positive, here the negatives. Video will come in five minute bits. Good video quality but would be nice if Polaroid improve on this. Next because its so small, you won't see anything until you connect to a tablet, laptop. Take video, pictures, no problem. If you take video at 1080p beware because it will take gb space and battery. Far less than the 1 hour 30 minutes. 720p is not a issue. In a nutshell, it can film, take pictures and is small. I had no problems with the cube but believe there room for improvement. But its very handy to have and simple to use.

I use this in conjuction with the official waterproof holder as a motorcycle helmet cam Polaroid Waterproof Shockproof Case for the Polaroid CUBE HD Action Lifestyle Camera - Connects to All Mounts in CUBE Series . It sticks up enough so that other drivers can see it on top of my helmet, and often very obviously change their mind about cutting me up! Video quality is quite nice, especially in full daylight. Rain and dark cause quite a lot of glare though. On 720p, it splits the files into 300mb/5 minute files, and I can fit approx 4 hours on a 16Gb micro SD card. There's next to no transition between files. The battery lasts about 90 minutes as advertised, and it's really easy to turn on and start recording, even in the case and with motorcycle gloves on. I can't attest to the quality of the microphone, because on my bike it's muffled by both wind and the waterproof case.

I was looking for something to record when I'm out cycling on the road, and this isn't a bad camera at all for that. But it's let down by some annoying features. The double press on the top button to start video recording can be difficult to get right especially if you house the camera in the waterproof case (bought separately.) The USB charging lead is incredibly short (barely 12cm long) and the camera battery doesn't last much longer than an hour or may be two before you need to recharge. And the handlebar mount for cycles is pretty flimsy. But on the plus side, it's incredibly compact and records decent video, although I've not used it at night or in really poor light conditions.

This is by far the best and probably the smaller, badget HD camera you can buy! Both 1080/720p video recording modes are great! The built-in magnet is too strong, I tested it on the car with speed 100km it did not move and the video quality was great! You will just love it, great design, is very easy to use, the battery is good, and the video quality is great day/night.

Weighs nothing and takes good video and stills. Bought for off piste ski trip. Took some great HD video. I didn't like the mounts so I simply taped it to my ski goggle strap with electrical tape, could still press the stop start button with ski gloves on no problem. And its so light that its not going to come off when taped to a goggle strap easily at all. I had a few wipeouts and it was always there afterwards. gives great point of view images. ive used it for two ski season now and love it. Very small and discreet the way I attach it to the goggle strap. Also means you don't have to mess around with adding mounts to your ski helmet.... i both the waterproof case but don't use it, the unit is snow proof anyway, and the waterproof case just bulks it out unnecessarily.

Very disappointing really. Video quality is very good and still are fine although not hi res. That gets two stars Sound quality is very poor indeed. I recorded a singer / guitarist at close quarters and the sound was low, muffled and a waste of time. The magnetic mounting makes it unsuitable to use in any robust situation where it might fall off so it isn't an action camera either. Its cute and nice and all that but hardly fit for purpose beyond that. If you want an action camera this isn't it.

This is the second cube I have purchased, and this one is for me, I am an avid snowboarder and have used many of the the other hd cameras in the past, and yes some of the other cameras are much better and have other features ie removable batteries, better video/audio, this camera is a beast the one button use is the best I have come across, and really if you open up the user guide inside the box it will show you how to use it right quick, the video quality is awesome and I love that it breaks recording into 5min chunks much easier for sharing and or editing, the only negative thing I have found with this camera isn't actually the camera it's on the waterproof case I have used it rattles a bit when recording but a small piece of foam tape stopped it, all in all this is a great camera at a great price

Hola No acostumbro a escribir opiniones de productos y menos aun por internet. Pero esta vez, lo merece la ocasión-. Es una MINI camara de video-fotos fabulosa. Muchos pros y pocos contras. Como cámara de video es mejor que como cámara de fotos. Yo busco que los productos tengan 3 cosas fundamentales, y estas son: Diseño, funcionalidad y versatilidad. Y esta Polaroid CUBE, aprueba con un 10 en estos tres aspectos. El diseño es lo que más me atrajo de esta cámara. Las Go-Pro por ejemplo, que aunque dicen que son las mejores en este sector de las cámaras de acción, el diseño es horroroso y tosco; parecen cajas de cerillas. El funcionamiento es muy sencillo. Imprescindible en las cámaras de acción, donde la seguridad es lo más importante. Yo practico ciclismo, y desde hace ya varios años, que me gusta poder grabar los paisajes tan maravillosos por donde voy, además de por otras razones, como seguridad vial. Y al ver los vídeos grabados en el PC, es asombrosa la calidad FullHD que ofrece. Apenas se nota pixelada la imagen grabada. He estado muy atento a la fecha de lanzamiento, y la verdad que AMAZON, fueron los primeros en venderla, además de ser los más baratos. Me encanta Amazon, son muy serios con lo que venden. Chapeau. Ahora vienen los contras. Por buscarles algunos. No aconsejo usar el imán (eso si, super potente), en un manillar de bicicleta. Yo lo he probado y casi se me cae la Cube de mi manillar. Es mejor usar ese imán en superficies metálicas pero que no se muevan, p.ej., estantería, lámpara, puerta... Lo ideal sería, tal vez para la versión Cube 2, que llevase giroscopio. Lo digo porque cuando grabas video con la cámara puesta en una puerta, el objetivo te queda girado 90º con lo que la grabación sale igual de girada. Aunque yo luego giro los videos con Windows Movie Maker. También se hecha de menos la función de Wi-Fi, y poder usarla como video-vigilancia. Aconsejo esta cámara de acción Polaroid Cube al 100%. Y animo a que la gente la compre en Amazon. ¡¡¡ANIMOOOO!!! seguro que nos defraudará.
