Authentic but minimalist panchpatra set
The panchpatra set arrived extremely well packed in bubble wrap and foam, though on unwrapping I could see why this was necessary as the gauge of the copper is extremely thin. I suppose that is to be expected for a pure copper item that is currently priced at £11.49 however firm finger pressure on the top edges of the pot is sufficient to distort it. The set includes the panchpatra itself, an achmani spoon and a small sachet of pitambri powder for cleaning the copper. Although the light weight and size were well described in the sales information, I was a little disappointed at a slight ridge around the circumference of the pot a centimetre down from the top, and the press marks on the spoon. The pot ridge especially was deep enough to felt when running a finger down the side of the pot, Unfortunately the image I have posted does not show it as obviously as it appears to the eye, although interestingly it could not be seen on the inside surface. I guess that even a hand made item needs to be held, turned and pressed but I do get frustrated when sales pictures are clearly doctored to make the items look more attractive than the item really is. Apart from this the images are accurate and perhaps I am being over critical of what is, after all, a very reasonably priced item. My own use of this pot will be for ornamental rather than ceremonial use and the ridge is not quite intrusive enough to preclude this. I will therefore give a rating of 4 stars

useful for ceremonies
This is a delicate panchpatra which is usually useful in pooja and during various ceremonies. This panchpatra is very dainty because of which I can press it easily. The Achman is small and has some sharp edges. Overall it is good to have but the quality could have been better.

These are hard to find anywhere unless you live near a puja shop which is why I justify buying it. You may be able to get a bigger one or even this same thing for a better price, but this is what is available online. It was well packaged and arrived fast. The size is tiny and the spoon bends easily so I wouldn't want to put any pressure on the cup because you definitely won't be able to get it back into shape. Be very gentle with it when using or cleaning, and do not let it drop. It is very small and light weight and I initially wasn't going to keep it but it suits my needs and I'm okay with that. It has a beautiful design and shine to it. If you plan do some bigger puja or yagna then I think you should look for something else but this is good for small home use. I will have to see how the copper holds up to tarnish and oxidization, but people traditionally clean their copper vessels with tamarind pulp or lime peel. (the same reason you should only use it for water and not other potentially reactive materials) The standard sized tea candle is to give a reference of size.

I’ve had two of these for 2 years. I fill them with oil on a heater for my massages. Copper is a wonderful element to work with. Works well- great size. Yes they are small. Yes they are thin- but it is pure copper- thus the higher price point.

I have had panchpatras before and was shocked to see how thin the cup and spoon are. Not happy with the product. It came dented because it's very fragile.
