First to Fall: A Sweet Romantic Comedy (A Lost Story Bookshop Novel)

So cute!!
First to Fall was such a cute book! I love the forced proximity trope, and what better way to employ that than waking up married to your very own archnemisis? (Enimies to lovers is also on my list.) Olivia and Lachlan knock heads together over and over, but it's so fun to watch the tension unfold into more. And those teasing, banter-filled texts at the beginning of each chapter? Pure gold.Side note: I also really enjoyed the woman making the grand gesture because we don't get a lot of those. Good on her for stepping up!

Sweetest Romance Ever
Oh. My. Goodness.First to Fall by Jenny B. Jones is an absolutely sweet and fun romantic romp. The hate-to-love trope, accidental marriage, the video game, red carpets, CIA grannies, the Lost Story Bookshop... WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE.Olivia is a buttoned up, loveable, control freak with a ten year plan. She's also a professional PR manager. Lachlan is a video game designer who has stumbled into fame...wearing D & D hoodies and sweats. When Lachlan's world famous video game becomes a movie, he moves into a whole new sphere of society and finds himself in need of a PR makeover for the red carpet. Olivia's firm jumps at the chance to scoop him his business, putting Olivia on the case. The catch? Olivia and Lachlan have a long (and angry) past. Olivia MIGHT just be a boss villain in his video game. Lachlan? He's the reason she needs a ten year plan. When an accidental marriage happens to these two unsuspecting enemies, things may just get a little complicated.đđ. Read it and love it! đđ

Excellent
I often look at book lists to see when more Jenny B Jones books come out. This one did not fail to amuse me. I love her writing style - it builds anticipation, always has some humor that makes me laugh out loud, and indulges me in learning about the lives of her character's romances.

a surprisingly refreshing and smart, fun read
This author knocked it out of the park with this accidental marriage story. Olivia and Lachlan were well written, funny, quote worthy, and engaging. I was even reading portions to my husband and kids, it was so awesome.I loved the sass, quick whit, and funny sarcasm. But most of all I loved the way each one of them truly loved each other well, even before theyâd admit to their hearts that they did love each other.Yup, I guess thatâs a spoiler but if you want a great read that makes you smile all silly then this is the one.I highly recommend this book and canât wait for more.

THE FEELS.
Iâve been waiting for this book for a long time and it flat out DELIVERED. I loved it so much. The main characters, Olivia and Lachlan had the best chemistry. I could feel the heat from miles away. Some fantastic banter intermixed with a bit of an enemies to lovers vibe AND THEN you throw in marriage of convenience?? SOLD. Perfect blend.I love the slow build between them. The burn is long and low and really allowed both characters to come to turn with the past grievances and where they are now. I LOVED all of the tiny little moments. I was going to combust from the heat of the kissing scenes. Good heavens, closed door romances can still bring it the steam yâall. It took Olivia a little longer than I hoped for to come around to her work issues BUT I liked how that ended up playing into the third act. Yes, thereâs a third act conflict, and you might be surprised but it didnât phase me much. I was here for the emotions, the need for growth and the separation that had to occur.Loved this book. Read it.Overall audience notes:- Contemporary Romance- Language: very little- Romance: kisses- Violence: low- Trigger/Content Warnings: poor workplace situations (abuse of power), parental neglect

ALL THE STARS!!!
There is no way this book should be limited to just five! Absolutely superb! The witty banter snapping back and forth between Lachlan and Olivia via text or in person was PERFECTION. Their chemistry was off the charts and deliciously written!! Whoever thinks 'closed door' romance can't bring the heat, my fingers are still smoking from flipping the pages ***Cough - dressing room scene - Cough*** The secondary characters were no less worthy of attention...especially Sylvie and Frannie who are a riot.Standing ovation to you, Jenny B. Jones! Can't wait for the next one!

Good 2nd Book
I loved the first in the series. This one I had a bit of trouble getting into. It seemed a bit more far fetched than the previous one. It really grew on me as the banter was witty and fun. The characters were well developed before our eyes. The supporting characters were already like family after reading the previous book. The evil coworker and boss were well written. I really liked Lachlanâs conflict and how both had to learn to trust. I really like this author and will seek out more from her. I look forward to another book in this series! The brother comes home & needs love? Rosie moving on? I will be on the lookout!

Love this story
It has everything, sass, romance, bad actors, crazy family, angst, heartbreak, love, and a main couple who became real enough I felt personally invested in wanting them work their relationship out.

The BEST Banter!
THIS is how you write banter. It was quite long for a romcom (427 pages), but the dialogue, text messages, just absolute pestering between Olivia and Lachlan was so addictive. And if you love the marriage of convenience trope, this was extra special with its enemies-to-lovers combination.Accidentally waking up together in Vegas wearing wedding rings, the two agree to continue the facade for six months to avoid a PR meltdownâLachlan being a millionaire gaming mogul, and Olivia needing to avoid drama in order to gain a promotion. The complexity of their arrangement mixed with their true initial dislike for each other created topnotch moments of forced proximity. I loved the slow build of their attachment, constantly acknowledging each other as husband and wife, adoringly dumbfounded they canât stop thinking about one another ... swoon! Highly recommend this Kindle Unlimited gem!
