Patiowell 6x4 FT Outdoor Storage Shed, Garden Tool Storage Shed

So. I got the 6x4 shed, and I was almost dreading recieveing it due to the negative reviews on here, but I needed some extra storage and didn't have a huge budget for it. Keeping the price in mind- I am absolutely thrilled with it. The packaging was really sturdy, and was also extremely heavy. Without a helper, you many struggle to get it where you need it for assembly, but once you start pulling the pieces out they are rather light. I used a couple pallets and some old scrap plywood as my base, placed on my already level concrete patio slab. You start with the bottom frame and then move on to the four corner pieces. It was slightly breezy, so I did need to throw a few screws to connect the bottom frame to my base just so it didn't blow over. Wall assembly was a breeze. I did most of the assembly solo, except for a few times where I needed an extra hand holding a piece in place while I got a few screws in it, like the top frame. I'm pretty pleased with the quality, I did need to bend a few pieces back in place on the corners and there are a few dents and dings, but it was $175. There are some little gaps and eventually I'll get some foam or something to fill them, but again, $175. The roof and the doors were a little annoying, just getting the pilot holes lined up and what not, but....$175. Definitely wouldn't bother with peeling the protective film off each piece, it would take ages, and really once it's assembled and you're standing back looking at the little building you just slapped up, you don't notice. I did this mainly solo in about four hours. If you have trouble lifting things, or holding things above your head you may want a helper. At the end of the day you get what you pay for- don't expect a small metal shed that costs less than $200 to come together like a $1000 shed would. If you have a small budget and just need an enclosed space for storage this is a great option.

First of all PHENOMENAL customer service! Had a few missing parts and instead of returning I reached out to their customer service. Provided all the information then needed and they sent me all the parts. This is by no means a 1 person job, I tried it and ended up getting my son to help me. The majority of building it can be done with 1 person but instead of fighting with the roof supports my son did help. He finished out the roof with me and then helped me hang the doors. I am a maintenance tech by trade and found the misalignment of some of the holes an extremely minor issue and the trade off of the top notch customer service a huge plus. A few of the corners were slightly bent but all pieces workers back into form. I’d absolutely recommend this shed if you’re looking for something in the lower price range. Just know it’s going to take several hours of work to assemble and don’t do it on the hottest day of the year like I did!

Decent little shed, but difficult assembly considering the small size. I've built several metal sheds over the past 30 years so I know what to expect. I've done sheds that were nearly 10 times this size but only took twice as long as this one. Had a few issues with this one: 1) holes not lining up and pieces not fitting cleanly - this is fairly typical for this type of product, but this one was worse than most; 2) quality out of the box - dented and scratched panels; 3) putting plastic liner over several of the parts - this added at least an hour to the assembly time, and I'll be picking up bits of plastic out of my yard for the next ten years. It's like trying to remove the membrane from a rack of ribs that is 20 feet long and 30 feet wide and having it rip into a thousand shreds; 3) poor design in several places - example: having to hold a tiny nut in place inside a super small channel with 1 finger, while trying to screw in a bolt from the other side. Really? That said, it seems like a fairly decent deal given the low price....just be ready to cuss a lot.

I’m giving this 4 stars because their customer service is good and because price was good. Some pieces came with dents but not a deal breaker. However, this thing is VERY difficult to assemble. Material is flimsy and you absolutely need 2 people for assembly. I am in the trade field and pretty good assembling stuff. This took me and my wife almost 2 days to finish. We did take our time but it was definitely very tedious. Lots and lots of hardware. Overall we’re happy with it because it looks nice and we cleared our garage of lots of mess. We also got some concrete tiles at Lowe’s and anchored it to that. It’s holding really nice.

Very satisfied after purchasing and building the shed. True, that the metal is like an aluminum can, but is fairly strong after it's all put together. Screws will strip in a flash if using a power screwdriver. Using a screwdriver is very tedious, but will save you a lot of stripped screw holes. Took me 2 days including building the base ( which cost more for wood and hardware than the shed ) by myself, and I'm an old coot. Doors operated good except for the lower latch pin. It would not go down far enough to grab the stop. Removed the roll pin to let it drop all the way. Needed this due to my home insurance company did a walk through of the house and saw my generator, lawn mower and assorted gas jugs laying around. I was sent a letter to remove those items ...or else. So here I am with a new shed and an insurance company off my back, Bottom line is...if you need something like this shed, YOU CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE! Instructions were great compared to IKEA stuff that has to be assembled . And the plastic wrapped pieces...OH the plastic wrap, patience will win.

I watched 10-15 videos of people taking several days with help. I did it in less than a day, plus a couple hours after work pre-building the roof beams, wall tops, and building, squaring, and screwing the base down to the platform I built. You need to be organized. Build the big complicated pieces first have them ready to go on. Use a tool belt like carpenters use and keep the bag of screws and plastic washers in it. Read the instructions a bunch of times and pay attention to the locations and which way things face compared to the base. The only thing I had real issue with was the top most part of the roof, and if I had a better ladder I'd have wedged a couple of 2x4s under the beam and put them on after getting all the panels on. Lifting one up from the center where it was attached was a pain, if you need to do it put one more panel on first. That being said despite seeming flimsy it's well designed and once it's all together it's VERY solid. I'm going to frame out a couple walls inside so I can add wood so I can hang stuff and lean things against the wall without worrying about denting it, but it's not needed for strength. I might add a little reinforcement just because we sometimes get a lot of snow and I don't feel like shoveling a roof etc. The bad: the door latch hardware is a joke. There is a gap so rain can pass through the center, I just added a strip of folded drip edging that I pounded flat and used the extra provided screws on the back of the fixed door (with latches on top and bottom). The fixed door latches are good. I also added screws along the edge of the roof, you don't even need to drill the screws they provide are very high quality and if you just want to add a screw here and there you just line it up where you want it and bump the back of your driver with your palm, the tips are sharp and will give you a bite enough to drive it through. Also they give you plenty of extra hardware. All said, I'm very happy with the shed. It's strong, looks good, the plastic on each panel really is just extra protection and I figure if it starts to peel from the sun it will be easy to take up piecemeal. Do your prep, have a good level surface for it, square your base well before you get going and pre-build everything you can, having the wall tops, roof beams, the peak of the roof with vents already installed and the braces etc. That made it a breeze. Once you get the corners up with one panel on each put your upper walls on get it all screwed in and you'll have it together in 6 hours.

First, the really good news - arrival no problem: the packaging is excellent so the likelihood of your shipment landing on your front porch damaged is almost unthinkable. Next just ordinary news - what you would expect: The directions were clear. Mostly pictures. The individual pieces are marked and easy to locate. I was able to get good screw purchase on the few pieces that I assembled before I threw in the towel. Next the not so good news - surprise! They tell you in the directions, for the first time, plan for it to take 3 hours to assemble and that 2 people are necessary. Whoa, where did this come from? Nowhere in the product description does it give the potential buyer a "heads-up" that this amount of time and assistance is needed, at the minimum. I can see from other comments (see 5*'s) that others got 'er dun. Spoiler alert: I'm not an idiot, but I sometimes do struggle with Mr. Fix-it tasks like hanging a picture level, or repairing a leaky toilet (it usually starts leaking again) and so forth. I'm 77 and long retired without out too many options for a "second person" and with only so much patience for screwing in perhaps 120 screws of various sizes into holes which sometimes don't line up while trying to tame a 5'tall wobbly wall. Don't even get me started on how many times I had to violate the oldster's creed to never get on the floor without first having a plan to get up. Exhausted after 2 hours, I declared the game over. Now for the punchline - if you've stayed with me this long hang on: The Amazon Seller here is Patiowell, apparently located in Georgia. When I initiated the return, they messaged me. After some back and forth, they offered $60 refund and I keep the thing. Since I had no use for it and since I'd already repackaged it quite nicely - packing and all - I figured I'd just as soon return it for my $109. They sent me a mailing label. Surprise, surprise, I lugged the thing to UPS and the clerk laughed when I showed her the paperwork. She said "that is from an Amazon seller. You pay for shipping. You.gotta.be.kidding.me! From where I live: $214. I can see why they told me to keep it. I suppose I could have played hardball and Patiowell would have eventually coughed up the full refund, but I was mentally and physically exhausted and I figured we'd kind of split the difference, reducing my loss to $50 and lots of hassle. I continue to be irritated by their claim, false in my view, that this product comes with a "...quick and hassle-free setup", which, again in my view, could NOT be further from the truth. So my final thoughts: if you are really good at handyman tasks such as replacing a garbage disposal, repairing a light switch, installing a doggy-door, and if you have someone to help you as it is impossible to do without assistance, then the finished product is probably a hell of a value for the $109 I paid for it. That's why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.

You get the quality you pay for but it has served our purpose. True to size. One person was able to put it together himself in an about 2 hours. Screwed ours onto a wooden base for stability. Looks exactly as pictured. Material is flimsy but we do not experience major weather and it is in a place where it doesn’t get much traffic.
