I am a big licorice fan. The best stuff cost more than I can afford. This licorice is affordable, so I can justify my addiction. This is made in Australia. It is soft. It has a strong taste. It was about 50 cents an ounce. It has sugar in it, but no corn syrup or Palm Oil. I never buy candy or food that has Corn Syrup or Palm Kernal Oil. Just about everything has Corn Syrup and Palm Kernal Oil. The only reason the food manufactures use those two ingredients is because they are cheap, but that are poison. This is the only cheap licorice that does not use them. I wish they didn’t use regular sugar. They should use more Annise and Molases for flavor and sweetener. If they still need sweetener, they should use organic raw, cane sugar. I have purchased lot’s of licorice from Darell Lea, their pricing is all over the place on Amazon. I only buy quantities when I get it for around 50 cents an ounce. This time I had to buy a 10 pack to get this price. If I had purchased 1 bag, it would have been twice as much, and not worth that price.

Australian soft black licorice is a go to item for me. If you like real licorice taste and tecture this is the best. I would mention it has a slightly different taste than the one I purchase in Australia but it's still a great classic sweet.

This is an excellent product; the licorice is soft, flavorful, and marginally addictive. It is my constant companion next to my recliner. I buy this by the box rather than the package because it is so head and hands above other licorice that I have had. If you haven't had soft, juicy Australian black licorice, run - don't walk - to the order panel and buy some now. It sticks to your fingers and is messy, which gives you a perfectly justifiable reason to lick your fingers. Why 4 stars instead of 5? For the most minor flaw - packaging; I've had trouble in the past opening and resealing the package, which is frustrating. In fact, I contacted them about it. The packages in the latest box I received, however, have a better and more easily opened/reclosed seal! They may actually have taken customer feedback and acted on it! I'll hold off - until I've ordered a few more times - believing such a miracle, but if so, there needs to be a six star rating. This licorice is truly a high point of my day - and I am PICKY! Try it - you'll love it.

Let me start by saying that I was never a licorice fan before I tried this licorice. The other licorice I have tried was always dry, hard to chew, and harsh tasting. I only decided to try this because I read that licorice can help with acid reflux/heartburn. Now I am a licorice fan—as long as it is Darrel Lea’s licorice. This licorice is nothing like what I had before. First, it is pleasantly soft and chewy, not at all like the hard stuff I had before that made me feel like I was chewing through leather. And it is pleasantly sweet, with a nice balance of licorice flavor and sweetness. Finally, it is reasonably priced as well. Now, this review only applies to the black licorice; I tried the strawberry and it was bland and tasteless. But the Darrel Lea black licorice has converted a licorice hater to a licorice lover. Oh, and it does contain a significant amount of licorice extract, so it works for my original purpose, acid reflux relief, as well. Great licorice!

I absolutely love this licorice! It’s the best black licorice I’ve ever tasted and I eat about 4 pieces a night to keep me regular. I also like the non GMO factor and ingredients list, too.

All arrived in a box which had the branding on. Taste is amazing it’s a soft eating liquorice but does have a firmness to it which is very tasty. It’s quite expensive but worth it for a treat.
