If you own the Sony FE 200-600mm lens and want to mount it on a tripod, you pretty much have to replace the factory foot on the lens or add an arca-swiss compatible lens plate. That's how I initially solved the issue, but when I saw the Leofoto foot on sale on Amazon, I decided to give it a try. What I really like about it is that it extends the length of the foot in both directions, making it better for mounting on a gimbal. The additional length also makes for a better handle for carrying with the lens with the camera body attached. I would prefer that the lens release "trigger" didn't stick out so far as it can result in an accidental release when carrying and it can poke into your hand, but I make it a habit to check to make sure the tightening knob is firm every time I take out the lens. The original Sony foot lens release is recessed and would be preferable, but I don't see this as big a problem as some would suggest. Other brands much more expensive that the Leofoto use the same design as the Leofoto. If the lens release is an issue for you, then getting the lens foot that attaches more permanently with an allen wrench might be the better solution by eliminating the need for the release. When tightened firmly, I see no wiggles or wobbles whatsoever. I use a strap with Peak Design connectors attached to the strap lugs on the lens, so having the QD socket isn't really necessary in my case, but it's nice that it's there should I ever decide to go that route. The lens foot seems well designed (version 2) and the finish looks top notch. Overall, I consider it a good choice, especially for the price.

This foot is extremely well built with high quality hardware and, feel very solid and secure once mounted on my lens. The QD socket is a game changer but, I would have preferred if there where two of those for added stability when walking. Unfortunately, once my lens was balanced, the protruding back of the foot was hitting the base of my low profile gimbal making it incompatible with my particular setup.

This Arca Lens Foot for Sony FE 400-800mm f6.3-8 G OSS exceeded my expectations. It is also long enough and a comfortable carry handle when doing hand held shooting.

I tried using Arca Swiss plates screwed onto the foot of this massive Sony lens, but no matter how well I tightened it, the lens would eventually rotate. The Leofoto SF-04 solves that problem, providing a solid connection between the lens and the tripod. The longer foot and cushioned grip also make the lens easier to handle.
