Can't beat these stands for the money!
I bought these speaker stands as a replacement for a pair of "On-Stage" stands I bought from Amazon a week prior. The On-Stage stands were severely under-built and were basically a Wal-Mart quality, disposable speaker stand. After returning the On-Stage stands, I ordered these Rockville stands because they seemed like a great deal for a stand with so many features. Also, they didn't have the same clunky tethered locking pins that most other brands do. Shipment was slow, but that was expected because of the extreme weather out East. The stands arrived and I was blown away! First, the stands are built EXCEPTIONALLY well. They are steel in the tripod section, as well as the collar, which REALLY makes these stands sturdy. No slippage, no bending or wobbling, no worrying if someone's crazy dance moves sends them crashing into your stand. The only plastic pieces I could find were the two tightening knobs, and the pole grommet(which looks and feels like a high-density injection-molded polymer, rather than cheap thin plastic), and the pole grommet is surrounded by a heavy-metal clamp. The lifting pole is made from heavy-gauge cast aluminum, and has a gas-assist for raising and lowering your speakers. THIS SYSTEM ROCKS!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pin-lock system. Rather than having your pin on a tether and needing to "thread the needle" every time, this stand has what basically amounts to a pin-lock toggle. You pull the pin, the stand pole rises without any effort. You let go of the pin, and it automatically springs back and locks into the next available hole. Killer system! I plopped my JBL EON 515XT, which weighs a sparse 33 lbs, on top of this stand, pulled the pin, and the speaker shot straight up into the air with NO effort on my part! No lifting, no straining while trying to put the pin through the hole. Just put the speaker on, pull the pin, let go of the pin. That's it! This will save precious minutes when setting up for a gig, and tearing down after. Can't say enough good things about these stands. Build quality is top-notch, so far the lift-assist system is flawless, and I anticipate them lasting a long time with such high-grade materials. Over all an INCREDIBLE VALUE! Gonna buy another set as backups. GREAT JOB ROCKVILLE!

Works great. So nice compared to plain speaker stands
I got tired of hefting my K12.2 speakers onto "normal" speaker stands, so I got these as a replacement. They work great -- the speakers are a good match for the tension of the stands so with just a little pressure I can lift the speakers. I like that it has fixed locking points (like a standard speaker stand with its pin holes) so when raising/lowering I can push the button to disengage the lock, then it will slide up/down and will lock into the next hole on its own. A few things to consider (not deal-breakers for me): 1. When collapsed they are larger (length and diameter) and heavier than my previous stands, so they don't fit in my old stand bag or in the stand "pocket" on the side of my speaker bags. 2. For my speakers, the stand has to be extended one notch to put the speaker on completely (and take it off). For storing I have tried leaving them extended one notch (which makes them even longer and harder to put in a bag). Now, after taking the speaker off the stand, I just push hard to collapse it completely.

Good but NOT perfect
The stands arrived on time. Solid build; all metal, as described. However, in one of the stands, the first time I tried to "lift" the pole by pressing hand clutch, it would not budge. I had to use a pair of pliers to press it and then the pole did not rise on its own as expected. I had to spray WD-40 to loosen it up. The other one worked as expected. Maybe the other is defective. Should I return it?

So easy to use!
I use these stands at almost any event I ever have. It made setting speakers up so much easier and I really love it. It's pretty lightweight and strong as well. Folds nicely to fit most spaces.

Great features
Great so far! I like that they have a mechanism that stops the rise at different points so that you aren't relying on a clutch knob to do all the work!

LIES! Does not lift speakers.
This is a horrible product for pros! I use JBL SRX815p which are 62LB speakers less than half the advertised 154LB and this stand doesnโt even attempt to lift them. I tried to help the stand but it was like I was lifting the speaker myself. No point of getting these stands, they are useless.

Great Quality, Arrived Quickly
I love these Rockville Hydraulic Air speaker stands. I host a karaoke show and, with non-hydraulic stands, I am short, so I struggled to get the speakers up high enough to achieve the best sound. Now, I don't have that problem. They lift my 15in Yamaha speakers up to the highest setting and gently lower my speakers at the end of the show. I highly recommend these speakers for short people or people who have trouble lifting speakers over their heads.
