The time came for my son (6 yrs old) to learn good old chess:) where to start? I wanted something that was compact, magnetic, and a 3 in one. This had all of the above, plus more - it was cost efficient. I hesitated, there were some reviews that threw me off. I also wondered if at such a cheap price it can still be good quality. So I continued researching but I found myself coming back to this set. I am so glad I did!! It’s super sturdy, my 2yr old flung the pieces onto the floor, they went rolling everywhere:() I was pleased to see that not one piece got damaged in any way. I also love how well the magnetic system works, you can tip the whole board and those pieces are not going anywhere. When you’re done playing the pieces all fit face down on one side of the board and it closes so nice and compactly. If you’re on the market for a 3 in 1 set, look no further, hope this was helpful, happy playing:)

I bought this set for my 5 year old daughter so we could start learning chess together. She is not always very gentle with her toys, so I was a bit worried about durability. The material is plastic and doesn’t feel extremely premium, but so far it has held up well with regular use and no cracks or damage. One thing I really like is the magnetic pieces. They hold very well on the board, which makes it much easier to play without pieces sliding around. This is especially helpful when playing with kids or when using it on a table that might get bumped. The 13-inch size works well for children. The chess pieces are clearly distinguishable (king, queen, etc.), which makes it easier for beginners to learn the game. I also like that it includes three games; chess, checkers, and backgammon. So it’s quite versatile for a compact travel set. The only small downside is storage. When you open the board, all the pieces are inside together. It would have been nice if the set included a small pouch or cloth bag to separate the pieces when playing different games (for example storing the backgammon pieces while playing chess). Overall, the material quality is basic, but for the price I think this is a very good value. It’s a nice option for kids, beginners, or anyone looking for a portable set for travel.

Nice set. Chess pieces are normal size which nice for a travel set. The checkers are a little small, but that's okay. The magnets are a perfect balance of strength & moving; its easy to move the pieces & holds very well if the board moves I did not test the movement in a car; I held the board in my hands and turned it & shook it & the pieces held pretty good. Great set over all.

A really nice set, especially considering the price.

I am not an angry person who always split some words on the internet, so I will try to write product reviews as objectively as possible. I like the price of this chess set, I like the chess pieces design and I like the magnetic. However I found out that every time they delivery it, always have a little piece that broke apart of the chessboard, I asked for replace the item but the same thing even on the same position happened again. I think this is a really big problem for the customer, I hope the seller fix this problem to let the customer have better experience on their product. Everything else is great, but since this is not a small problem, I will give a three star as an objective view and I hope the seller give a effective solution.

This is the best chess set! Great for travel and the size is perfect to have it in my office!

Great set, can play three different games. Folds up, easy to store. Well made, all pieces are magnetic so they don't slide around when playing. Overall a good set to have at home or when traveling.
