I love these barrettes. I am working through some new hair styles, and this is the perfect size I need. They clasp well. It is a french clasp - about the quality you'd expect. The crystals seem to be attached well, and the barrettes are well constructed. thin hMy hair type is thin, so I am using them for updos, but for thick hair, they will clasp as much as any other 3.5 inch clip. The darker colors have a nicer appearance than the lighter colors, especially the white. I think it's because the more you can see through the beads, the more you see the underlying clip and the way the crystal beads are attached. This multi color pack has some really lovely colors, and I'm happy about getting two dark blue ones because it's better for me than black, and as a dark bead option, they look great. My only real wish is that I could buy a pack of a specific color rather than multiple colors. The multi-pack probably works better for most people, but I want to stack them in a monotone. But I don't want to buy 5 packs just to get the one or two colors I prefer.

I like that it stays close to the head and doesn’t pop up too much. It grips tight holds the hair well! Looks very pretty. Very happy with the purchase.

I ordered these to wear on a cruise vacation to the Caribbean where my fine hair never holds a set and always flies around if I don't pull it back. Unfortunately, these are too glitzy to wear during the daytime. The clasp is designed so that if I pull my hair back to wear one, they hold the hair down in an unflattering manner. They might work well for someone with thick hair who wants to hold the sides of her hair back or wants to pull back only a portion of hair in the back, but for someone with very fine, thin hair, they are not really appropriate.
