Sow Right Seeds - Habanero Orange Pepper Seed for Planting Chili Peppers

I germinate these in March using the zip lock moist paper towel in a window method. It takes a while to germinate. I probably could have started earlier, but most of the seeds were successful to get sun leaves. I only wanted 4 so I discarded several... like 6. Its August and I have many habeneros in the green stage. Two of my 4 plants are in plastic pots that dont drain too well and 2 are in 5 gallon cloth planting bags. The habeneros far prefer the cloth bags and that seems to translate to all my peppers... other than tomatoes which are a cousin to peppers. I have many many nightshades, and other than tomatoes I find the cloth bags to be superior when you check water every night. This includes potatoes which I have in 15 gallon cloth bags... outside of nightshades I think im not a fan of the cloth planters.I digress... I am impressed with the bushiness and color of my habenero leaves (in the cloth planters anyway), the sheer amount of flowers on these plants is staggering and I would trim some off, but they are a bit hard to manage so I'll clip a few peppers off for higher quality peppers later. Also, these plants tell no lies (it seems), if it droops, its thirsty. If it starts to yellow its overwatered. If it's leggy it needs more sun. If its bushy along with upright green leaves, its happy.

Grows fast, great value and peppers are extra spicy/hot.

I ended up with 40 habanero plants, each about 3 - 4 feet tall, and producing like crazy. I have made hot sauce, powder, and hot honey. There are still 20 - 30 unripe peppers on each plant, and I have harvested twice already. Get some good sauce bottles and start making Christmas gifts! 🎁

Planted 6 and got 1 to sprout. Pretty disappointed but it’s all good.

I was nervous I had started over 100 peppers of 12 varieties, my seeds from 2 years ago didn’t come up for habaneros. I planted 4 trays of 6 plants quick in early spring when all my other plants already wanted to flower. Turns out, I have 21 habanero plants now which is very good germination rates! There’s a lot of seeds in the packet. I’ve been growing them a few years. Great pepper for drying and making homade seasonings. My favorite is a Cajun creole with habanero on popcorn.

Gracias

Of the 5 different peppers I planted from seeds, these did not grow at all. I had 3 separate batches planted to ensure Mother Nature had a good chance. The seeds were planted with ghost, cayenne, reaper, bonnets and bells. I did get some tiny seeds compared to normal, I’ve had habaneros for 6 years and I do recall 2normal looking seeds and others looked small and some just pieces.

Just as advertised
