Why does the Kitchen Scale screen display 8888 and not work?

It takes 2 seconds for the kitchen scale to boot up. If you operate the kitchen scale while it is booting up, it will easily go into calibration mode. Press and hold the ON button for 3 seconds to turn it off, then restart it.
