Will this one work on a 2005 x trail?

Yes it should. Only one thing is as it a universal guard it’s not the best fitting. The clamps tha hook onto the head rest bars are not great. My headrests do not go high enough for it to fit snuggly but using a bungee or two should make if fit nicely instead of the supplied clamps.
