My Thoughts Coming from a Bosch CCS180, then Dewalt DCS578, to thus
Was searching for a Blade Left Saw to replace my CCS180, and cut deeper ... had no idea what I would be getting into. Let me share, and then explain why I took to this one. Problem with the CCS180 was that they until recently did not make a battery to replace the Fatpack 6A original 18V Batteries with the Core 18V Line until late in '23, but the prices weren't even inline or realistic till early '24. My 6A original batteries were needing replaced, and unfortunately 8A Procore 18V Batteries require you to raise the saw 3/8" and you loose depth which, it's not that bad, but I was cutting everything with one saw and needed a 7-1/4" for deep framing and more grunt, but needed a nimble blade-left for accurate cuts. If you didn't know this, everyone makes blade-left saws for Framing. Monstrous almost two handed blade lefts, but for smaller sheet and a more agile compact smaller saw - most are blade-right. And blade right is a little less accurate because you hold it right handed, and have to look offset at it to cut. Blade-lefts are the only way to go. That being said I went with a 60V Dewalt DCS578A thinking it was longer living (which it was), and would be a good replacement - but again, blade right. And it worked well, don't get me wrong until I built 4 sets of Utility Cabinets and was finding it walked every so slightly on freehanded sheet cuts. And I never had this show up before with the Bosch CCS180. So I went looking at the Dewalt Blade left - got it in, turned right back around and sent that honker back. Looks good in reviews, but it's freaking huge and in no way nimble! Bought the Bosch GKS18V-26L Blade Left for Framing and Deep Cuts. Love the Saw. A bit of a Beast, a little large and not as nimble, but manageable. Seems like it will tear through batteries, but I haven't gotten much use from it. But honestly, this saw can't do double dity and small hobbyist work with 1" and 1/2" Pine organizers and the like I make for the woodshop. Just too large to one-hand and do mid-air cuts without a table, or for those times I just have to be really soft and accurate - no way. So I decided to try the new Brushless version of the remodeled CCS180, this saw here, the GXS-18V 22L. It's the same design, blade-left, 6-1/2", but has a dust port design, and a few modernized changes to it. Wow!! Tried it with a 4A Core 18V, not even the 8A, and it ripped through 1x10 loudly and with intent. It's like the smaller cousin of that larger Framing Saw. And it's smaller and more nimble feeling with one irritating change in the design being the lack of a beefy handle, but overall it's much better. The biggest improvement seems to be how flat the saw lays on a sheet. The CCS180 would lean left or right a bit unlevel, some kind of natural tendancy I always found annoying. This one lays dead flat. Why, idk? The dust port actually throws like 90% of the wood chips out the back, and it can be articulated nicely onto your shoes or shirt, or about at neck level, your choice. I mean that jokingly, cause it's OK being directed now, but you really need a small hose to shuttle it right or something....i'll work on that, but if you had a small shop-vac, this saw would work about perfectly in with the idea of dust collection. I liked the new guide bevel location upfront, and the blade depth fastener lever too - well done. Overall it's a great small and nimble saw with alot of power, and it can even take the largest batteries. In fact it feels pretty good with an 8A battery, even moreso balanced than a 4A battery - so keep that in mind. (Also the Bosch Batteries are cheapest on amazon, but make sure you use CamelCamelCamel to notify you on a sale price, cause you can wait 3 to 5 months and save good money - usually March to April the prices are the best). I'll upload comparison pictures of the three saws when I get some time. But you won't be let down with this saw, it's really nice!

Battery and power
I don’t give 5 star reviews often that said this is a good saw when I originally got it it was missing the dust port I called Bosch and they sent me the correct part customer service was amazing and it got here in 2 days. I can’t say enough about Bosch tools. My boss uses makitas and just battery life alone Bosch is the way to go the chargers are solid and won’t burn your shop down like a Milwaukee and the saw it’s more powerful than makitas best 61/2” and the cuts are as you dial them right on everytime. When making trim cuts even my boss is grabbing mine

Finally, a good left-bladed battery powered saw
I love this saw because it is much easier to use than my wormdrive saw and easier to get out and use. The battery is the same as all my other Bosch tools. Most importantly, the blade is on the left side of the saw. That means that you can actually see the cut and line to cut if you're right-handed. I got used to this framing houses with my wormdrive but for some reason most saws are opposite. The fact that I can pull this out quickly and get the job done is great. It cuts well, is stable in the hand, has a large foot to avoid slanted cuts, and can be quickly set to the right depth. The one downside is that the blade is a bit smaller, but since a carbide blade lasts a long time this is not such a problem. I've been using this for over 6 months now and find myself reaching for it first.

Nice little saw
This thing works great, which is no surprise since it's a Bosch. Good power and the blade brake action is nice. A nice addition to my arsenal of Bosch tools.

Got this for my Son
I borrowed my sons Saw and I liked it. It was new in the box when I borrowed it, so like a good dad, I kept it and ordered a new one. Made nice precision cuts for our new hearth we were building. Fast with good power. Uses the same batteries as my other Bosch tools. My older cords saws have been relegated to shelf duty.
