Does not seem to add chemical taste to drinking water. However, is very soft and blows up if water pressure is over 30-40lbs. I reinforced it with woven "tube" nylon mesh sleeving and the combination works well up to 80lbs.

Food grade silicon is perfect tubing for using in a kitchen or lab. Also can be used in vaping as it is the same diameter as a commonly used whip only without the high price tag. It is somewhat kink resistant and works perfect for me and since it's 10 feet ling, you can get several uses out of one piece. Whatever your purpose, you will be pleased with the quality.

I bought this hose for my Katadyn water filter. Upon opening the package there was instantly this pungent sweet chemical smell and there was no way, to get rid of it. Not inside and not outside of the hose.. A little bit of it i could remove, so i took it on my trip in order to filter river water. sharp A sharp tingling taste was all the time on the tip of my tongue all day and when a wasp tried to drink from the water it started behaving weird and fell on its back, weakly buzzing its wings. That was it for me. If i could give it minus stars i would. Five!
