The Center Screw Has to Be Tight
This is a good product and should last for many many years. Although the provided instructions say not to over tighten the wall screw, it absolutely must be tight so that the attachment plate doesn't come loose from the wall. I tightened it until I could hear the butterfly digging into the inside of the drywall and then tightened it a few more turns to make sure it was tight. Hopefully this helps someone with their installation.

DON'T BUY. Moen now sells cheap, useless products
I purchased this without checking the reviews because I believed that Moen was a good brand - boy was I wrong! The other bad reviews point out the glaring issue. I purchased qty 4. They are now all trash. The towel bar design is simply the worst I have EVER seen (I'm a mechanical engineer). The connection between the base and the black plastic mounting hardware is ONLY friction with no positive mechanical attachment (the snap does not even engage and it is on the wrong side to do any good). It will eventually fall off the wall in all cases. Mine took less than a week. The sad part is, Moen is saving less than a dollar (MFG cost) by changing from the standard bracket/set screw that works to this friction attachment that doesn't. Find a standard bracket mounting towel bar - you will be much happier overall. Because I HAD (emphasis "had") respect for Moen, I contacted them directly (outside of Amazon) regarding this problem. They said they had no bracket and offered me a 75% off future Moen purchases that lasted 4 days. Why would I want a discount off more bad products? This has shown me that MOEN, once a quality manufacturer, has now become cheap & worthless.

Flimsy mounting system and the spinning rod is crazy
This is a nice looking towel bar and matches our sink faucet. The engineering on the system is lacking, however, to put it nicely. I concur with everyone else who is complaining about the mounting system and the rod spinning. No matter how hard or tight the rod is pressed into the end piece it spins. I had to fill the end pieces with silicon sealant before attaching it to the mounting system and let it dry overnight. No more spinning. Why can't Moen use set screws for the mounting bracket like every other company? My right bracket ended up wobbly even after tightening the toggle bolt as much as possible and the plastic tab that is supposed to click in place didn't work or if it did, I can't tell. The solution of course is clear silicon adhesive. I ran a bead completely around the end bracket where it touches the wall, let it dry overnight and no more wobble. So there you go. Stock up on silicon adhesive before installing.
