Great Buy
this thing was awesome, I do think it could have came with better instructions on how to assemble, the youtube video was in fast motion and hard to watch but I got it together, its my first smelter but it was so much fun, it melted copper and poured pretty easy. Talk about hot, this is a whole new level, I will use this alot just as a hobby, I love it.

Works great and less gas wasted
Brings to full temp at 3-4 psi melts everything so far

Use care and patience. It will work well!
Used it twice to melt brass. Worked well, and the higher temp to melt brass took longer but was no problem. The rivets holding the lid handle melted, but everything else worked well. Be sure there is nothing above the unit during operation, as there is a large hot air plume above, when in operation.

Failure, first time
Melted copper, tried lifting the smallest supplied crucible with the tongs in the kit and the crucible edge broke off and spilled 8 pounds of copper inside the furnace. Tipped the furnace over to get the bulk of the copper out. This resulted in the rivets on the lid handle melting, as they were made of aluminum. The package should include a lifting tong and better crucibles. The provided gloves had incomplete stitching which allowed some of the metal to burn my hand when the crucible dropped back into the furnace. Thank goodness it did not break at my feet. I am ordering some lifting tongs and pure graphite crucibles. I do not know if the insulation is compromised, but will find out on the next attempt. I purchased this product thinking it was well rated. I am now doubting the Amazon rating system.

Doesnโt worth the price
The metal is thin. After just one use, the surface started to warp, which might be due to poor insulation. The metal deformed when exposed to high temperatures. It's not worth the price.
