The media could not be loaded. Primeramente el pedido lo hice el 7 de diciembre 2022, se envio hasta el 29 de diciembre y llego el 4 de enero 2023. Mucho tiempo en surtirlo!!Desde que llego se pudo obervar que tenia algun problema, la caja estaba deforme de una esquina . Al abrirla efectivamente sufrio un golpe por lo que la espuma protectora se comprimio y se deshizo y la tapa negra que cubre las poleas se quebro, el metal a un lado de las polear tambien se abollo. El golpe tambien llego a la perilla de bloqueo del eje. Devolvi el equipo inmediatamente, ahora estoy a la espera del reembolso

I purchased this lathe and have no regrets! The mother compensates for load, maintaining the selected RPM. there is a lag, so if your in the middle of a cut, don’t back off on the tool pressure. Maintain and the machine will reward you with the RPM. everything works as well as higher priced machines. Quiet as the proverbial Church Mouse! Tailstock travel is good! I did buy a chuck and a drill chuck with a #2 Morse Taper for hogging out material with large Drills. Love the speed ranges that each of the three selections provide. I usually run the middle range and only select the outer ranges as needed. As with any wood lathe, your tool section, quality, and sharpness will be the determining factor for your enjoying this great machine. I like the weight of the machine! I have it on a bench that serves me multiple uses. When I’m turning, I slide it forward and it’s heft keeps it in place without the need to attach it to the bench. Then when I’m finished, I just slide it to the back of the bench, cover it for protection and it stays there safe until needed. When you buy a lathe, buy the largest one you have room for! I do not regret buying this one! Would I consider purchasing a different lathe? Only if I had more room, and then it would be a Rikon product!After having the lathe for going on three years I can say it performs well. Actually it’s a great lathe for safety. It has the torque needed to turn bowls at the maximum swing for the machine. But if you have a flaw in the wood that sets you up for a snag you can stop the lathe without breaking a tool or throwing something out. I have a couple of face plates, a chuck, live center , and conventional tools as well as inserted tools. I am limited on space but I did buy the extension for the lathe. This allows for spindles to be turned. Overall, anything I buy and can say I would buy it again three years later has to be looked at as a great buy.

The lathe arrived on time and with no damage to the packaging. Kudos to the Amazon driver who helped load it on to my dolly. Definitely service above and beyond. Setting up the lathe was straightforward and easily accomplished. The lathe is everything the authors of the reviews I read in woodworking sites and publications. In short, it is a high quality tool that is well suited for a beginner or beyond. I also want to give a shout out to Vera Tools for making sure the lathe was delivered to me within a week! Finally, the Amazon Prime drivers were just the best! From the tenor of this you can tell I’m a very satisfied customer!

Very sturdy with all the power and features one wants. My "STOP" switch came apart about the second time I used it so I called the help line to be told to email my request. After a week of hearing nothing I asked for an update and to my surprise the President responded on a Sunday and promised to have a new switch mailed immediately. By Monday morning I had proof of posting and by Wednesday I had the switch. I also received a very good set of instructions to fit the new one which I did in 10 minutes.

This is a good midi lathe. Has enough power to move a large dense bowl blank. The moveable control box is convenient and the stop button is good for emergency stops. I was missing the wrenches and knock out bar. Yellowhammer tools and Rikon sent them in short order.
