This is the perfect pan.No nasty non-stick coating because it's cast iron. Gets lovely and hot and retains heat, which is fantastic for cooking everything from scrambled eggs (without sticking) to the perfect steak. So happy, I have thrown my old pans away; no more non-stick for me!

We love it, fantastic quality, came pre seasoned and we've just kept seasoning it every couple of uses so food doesn't stick, it's replaced our non stick pan as they wear too quick but this will last a lifetime. Would definitely recommend.

First quality skillet I have ever owned and although on occasion I wish I had purchase the slightly larger one, I love this to bits. Easy to use, clean and by drying it, warming it and giving it the slightest possible coating of oil, it has been perfect for my needs. I also bought a glass lid elsewhere and am glad I did.

It’s HEAVY. And it gets HOT. And requires care. I washed, seasoned, and stuck it in a hot oven for about 20-30 minutes before initial use and repeated the process a couple more times between each use. It requires several seasonings to make it totally non stick to my personal satisfaction. Nothing sticks!! Cooks, sears, bakes beautifully. Conducts heat perfectly, and my fried eggs slides around the skillet, and in my small cast iron frying pan, the omelettes are perfectly cooked. Real crispy bacon. Fat is this pan’s best friend before, during and after cooking. I wash in warm/hot water only. Wipe dry. On occasion I put it on the hob on medium heat. Then grease lightly. I use lard or olive oil. Wipe excess grease with paper towel. I’ve never had to put this pan on high heat for anything. I typically preheat the pan and cook on medium, or low. The best thing is…. I won’t be buying anymore chemically treated non stick pans that only lasts 2-5 years before ending up in a landfill somewhere.

I already have the Lodge pancake pan and love cooking on it, so I thought I’d buy this pan for general use. It’s brilliant. Great quality. A pleasure to use. 5 stars for this pan one star for Amazon delivery. The pan was delivered in a ripped paper bag and nothing else. Seriously Amazon!?

Love it! Own two of Loge cast iron skillets. as most cast iron it requires additional seasoning, but ones that's done it's work like a treat, no more eating Teflon!

Good, but could be much better This item is the second one, as first arrived with broken handle. Lodge and Amazon doesn't care much about packing safely these pans. Just a thin paper Amazon bag, that's it! And they do break, they are not unbreakable. There is a chip in the seasoning layer, but never mind However, what should be really embarrassing for Lodge, is the rough trimming by one of the handles. For a company that is proud to be around since 1896 this shouldn't happen! I hate giving less than 5 or 4 stars, but these issues are expected from a new company with little experience and small budget, not from Lodge

La calidad del material y acabado es muy buena, viene precurado y listo para usarse después de seguir algunos pasos que vienen en la etiqueta (básicamente un curado mas). Mi primer uso fue freír un par de huevos agregando solo una cucharada de aceite y salieron muy bien pues no se pegaron excepto en un par de puntos en las orillas que separé con la espátula sin problema pero el procesó fue como si lo hubiera hecho en Teflon. La ventaja de cocinar en hierro fundido es que alcanza y mantiene mayor temperatura por lo que puedes sellar la carne o los filetes de atún sin que se cuezan mas de 2 o 3 milimetros. Hay muchas otras cosas en las que se puede aprovechar la alta temperatura, es cosa de ir probando. Compré este modelo en lugar del que tiene mango (como sartén normal) porque estaba seguro de que en el uso regular no iba a poder manipular esta cosa tan pesada como si fuera otro sartén. Hasta ahora no me parece que requiera del mango pero lo que si es importante es que le compren los protectores de silicon para las asas pues se calientan muchísimo y uno está acostumbrado a las ollas y sartenes en donde las asas y mangos no se calientan tanto. Para que dure el curado hay que aprender a lavarlo. Primero hay que limpiarlo con un cepillo de cerdas duras para quitar los excedentes de comida y cualquier cosa que esté pegada, luego lavar con una esponja con muy poco jabón y sin frotar (pueden no usar jabón del todo si se sienten cómodos con eso), enjuagar con agua caliente, secar con una toalla de papel y con otra untar en el interior unas 2 o 3 gotas de aceite de aceite vegetal para que esté listo para la próxima y prevenir la oxidación. Estoy muy contento con la compra, es un buen complemento para mi cocina y puedo hacer cosas que los sartenes y ollas de acero inoxidable no hacen tan bien.

Love this skillet and the convenient size. Boil water in it for a few minutes to get any stuck-on food off. Make sure not to leave it wet for long, very greasy food is okay to leave since you’re supposed to season it with oil after washing anyway. Highly recommend this skillet unless you have a delicate ceramic stovetop.

I have Lodge's 10 inch skillet but unfortunately it won't fit in the standard Japanese ovens. This one though is perfect, you just got to rotate it a bit and it'll fit beautifully. The quality and craftsmanship is top-notch, as always.

I had been using it for the past 4 months. I am happy. Cooks regularly in it. Needs proper care like seasoning but worth it. I make crepes, fry food, and make curries too.
