Fulton Lulu Guinness Birdcage Umbrella Birdcage

As many have said before (Anna being the best), I also didn't pay attention to umbrellas. Until last year. I saw it but couldn't afford it. I said to myself, look girl you live in Athens. It probably rains 30 days a year. You don't need it. But still... A year later and a cheap broken dome umbrella in my history, I finally decided. It's going to be Lulu or wet shoulders. And today it came to my door! + delivered in a carton box, believe me it was a relief (especially for abroad buyers like myself). Last time I ordered a brolly it came wrapped up in a plastic bag and tata! broken. So fellow non UK citizens, don't be afraid, it will come safely to your door + Metal handle. It's sleek and it doesn't get sticky + smooth open/close mechanism. Being used to metal mechanisms with hard to push buttons, this umbrella feels like heaven + quality PVC, thick enough not to worry it can be torn + it doesn't turn the inside out, as most fabric ones do when the wind is strong + it's big enough to cover 2 people + it's absolute stylish. I don't have to say more, images speak for themselves - what hit me really bad is the plastic grey tip. It looks like metal on the pictures but it's not. It's plastic and it looks cheap. It's a pity because it spoils the whole luxury feeling - big to carry around (but if you're crafty you can easily make a nice long bag to carry it on one shoulder) - more grey than black. Seeing the pictures I expected the design to be black. But it's not, the cage is grey. - plastic odor (I guess that time after time it will wore off) - white powder thing in order to keep plastic cover away from colliding (I also think that it will come off with the first rain) I think that Lulu is an eye-candy umbrella, maybe over priced but at a fair quality. I don't regret spending my money on it.

Love my new umbrella, lovely design from Lulu. Nice quality product. It does have a bit of a plastic smell but it is ok. Only thing is, it hasn't rained since I got it! It is a lovely big size, fits you and your shoulder bag, no problems, you feel nice and cosy inside. Would have liked some way to carry it when closed. I had the need to get in touch with Amazon cos I thought it hadn't arrived (my husband had taken delivery and not told me) and they have a fab system where you click a button asking them to ring you 'now' or 'in 5 minutes' it is an excellent system and I spoke to some really helpful people. Well done Amazon although it did take some finding - look on your orders page, click on the 'what's this' link regarding the status of your order and there is a 'contact us' link.

I saw this umbrella on the Lulu Guinness website and coveted it for a long while. When I went to buy it, they had sold out so I went along to Amazon. This umbrella is such a beautiful thing. It is large,(so can fit two under it) and it is sturdy and tall. The handle is a very sassy silver (actual metal, not a sprayed plastic). The best part though is the birdcage design itself... It is so unusual and pretty. When I first got it, I actually looked forward to the rain so that I could use it! I absolutely adore my umbrella! Highly recommended if you don't mind spending silly money on something so practical.

I wanted one of these for ages and pleased with my purchase, which I've had for several months now. Some people have complained it's very heavy and they're unable to carry it. I'm a petite 5ft 3ins and size 8 and I haven't this to be the case. It's not a mini umbrella so of course large to carry around when it's stopped raining. but in no way 'very heavy'. I love the fact it keeps more of me covered, and I can see where I'm going. It's very stylish too - I love the design. It's fine in light wind, but I think only those strong wind proof umbrellas fare well in strong gales. I'm pleased I finally bought one and would recommend this umbrella.

My friend is fortunate enough to be able to buy all the finer things in life whenever she wants them. As a result, buying a birthday gift is always very difficult so I always try and choose something which shows I've put some thought into it, even if the price tag isn't high. I saw this Lulu Guinness umbrella whilst trawling through practical presents which you might not always consider buying for yourself and thought it was perfect. The shape and style are distinctive and I'm a big believer in "less is more." There's enough of a pattern to make it stand out without it looking too garish or cheap. With the Lulu Guinness name embossed on the fastening strap, it made it the ideal gift for a person who likes Labels and also has everything! HM the Queen has a clear version of this make of umbrella so the crowds can still see her under it when it rains. When my friend contacted me to say she was thrilled with the gift and what a fantastic shape it was, my response was "Well, if it's good enough for the Queen......"

I looked at this product more times than I care to remember, as I was a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews about the powder residue, but I'm so glad I 'risked' it and I was really pleased when it arrived and yes, it had a little more powder than I expected but I just hoovered it off on a low suction...perfect! The first time I used it really put it to the test, on the windiest day of the year! I think it was a little too windy and I was so scared of it breaking so I decided to give up and get wet through instead. But on a normal windy day it's just too sturdy to break and as it's quite big keeps you completely dry and snug. I love it, best umbrella I've ever bought, I love quirky and this is just perfect for me, I'll be buying another Lulu Guinness umbrella soon.

A few years ago I bought a 'normal' clear Fulton Birdcage umbrella for my wife and she was thrilled with it. So thrilled that she has since developed an appreciation for a nice brolly and bought some more, but when she spotted this one from the same manufacturer and designed by Lulu Guinness she just had to have it. It's not that different to the standard model but the actual birdcage design and the colourful bird are lovely. It is a good size for one or two people but not so big that it gets in the way when shopping in crowded areas. It also looks very stylish and became the perfect accessory at a wedding we recently attended when it began to rain and the official photographer asked to borrow it for a photograph with the bride!

Have been looking at this umbrella for sometime and although it was on my Christmas wish list I have still had to make the purchase myself as I guess Santa couldn't get it himself! It arrived well packaged in a triangular box. It's quite a big umbrella and believe it or not i've not yet had an opportunity to try it out but it looks as if it will do the job nicely. I didn't notice any particular stickyness to the material/plastic when opening the umbrella and the opening and closing mechanism seems really smooth. Looking forward to being able to see where I am going whilst staying nice and dry. If I have any other comments to make once i'ts been in use, i'll try to remember to update this review.

Offert pour son anniversaire, ma femme en est ravie...très original même s'il n'est pas compact. A l'air plutôt solide, à voir dans le temps.

Fue un regalo y gustó mucho. El diseño es precioso. Como comentan muchos viene con una pelicula de polvos blancos pero es para que no se pegue entre si el plastico. Una pena que no sea de apertura automatica.

Super süß und praktisch,erinnert mich an meine Jugendzeit als ich meinen ersten Schirm in dieser Form geschenkt bekam.Durch die Form der Schirmes ist der Kopf vor Wind und Regen prima geschützt,das Motiv macht auch bei Regenwetter gute Laune.Hoffe das er nicht zu schnell kaputt oder verloren geht.

Mi sono comprata questo ombrello per sfizio personale. Costa un po' (adesso vedo che è 41, l'ho comprato a 32), ma è davvero carino. la tela è in pvc, completamente impermeabile (tenete presente questo perché sgocciola di più degli altri ombrelli una volta chiuso, in quanto non trattiene nulla). Il manico è in acciaio, robusto, resiste anche al vento. La forma a campana protegge anche le spalle.
