It really works! No skin irritation.
I picked this up from HEB. I didn't believe the demonstration lady when she rubbed some on my wrist and told me the scum was dead skin cells. I thought for sure it was sun screen or a chemical reaction in the gel itself that produced it's own bi-product. Because it is cruelty free, and I was curious and eager to debunk and return it, I went ahead and bought it anyway so I could see for myself. The gift bag came with free foaming face wash (and some other stuff) so I went home, washed off all my sunscreen and makeup with the foaming cleanser (and hot water to open my pores because I wanted to make sure my face was totally clean first) and tried the gel.It really does work! I used a lot more product than she told me I would, mostly because I guess I had a lot of dead skin on my chin and jaw, and the circular rubbing caused dead skin cells became entangled in my fine peach fuzz. I repeated the process several times on that area before realizing the skin scum wasn't coming off because it was twisted into my peach fuzz. It really produced a lot of white debris around my jawline (looked like a mild version of the aftermath of a chemical peel, but without the redness and irritation)). Photo attached. In retrospect, I probably could have used less product because I thought it was just flakes of skin that wouldn't come off, when, in fact, it was attached to hair. I had to pinch/scratch off the remaining particles after drying my face several times and even trying an agave loofah type wash cloth to rub it off. Pinching the flakes off probably removed a little peach fuzz, but was actually quick and easy once I realized what was going on. I could definitely tell my skin had improved after using the gel. The layer of dry skin was gone, which made it easy to extract black heads, which came out easily. My skin looked younger and rosier, and when I toned and moisturized afterwards, my skin drank it up, whereas the moisturizer normally sits on my skin. The next time I use it, I won't use as much product on my chin and jaw, and I will just know to pinch off the stubborn skin cells/fine hairs. This was my first time trying it. I really had low expectations, but it really does do what it says. It is expensive though, so if it hadn't come with face wash, body lotion and 3 lip glosses, I probably wouldn't buy it again unless I can't find a similar product that's cheaper and also cruelty free. If I can't find a comparable product for less, I will consider re-buying it, but seeing as this is my first time using, I think I will see how I feel after a year of bi-monthly application. I do a lot to my skin, but I must say, this product die more in a few minutes than many of my cleansers, scrubs and peels do combined.I should mention that I am not fond of the fragrance, but that was mostly an issue with the foaming cleanser that I got free with purchase (same brand). I also want to mention that although the product cleared away dead skin cells, it did not irritate my sensitive skin, which was a surprise. I did decide to return it to HEB, however because the gifts that came with it were not vegan and contained ingredients that are harmful to skin. I also couldn't tolerate the fragrance of the free body lotion, and the foaming cleanser got in my mouth and tasted really toxic. That's not a reflection of the gel itself, which was great, but I probably wouldn't have bought the gel alone for $60 and I was unable to use the other products.Update: I bought the product again and have been using it about twice a month. I really love it, especially now that I shave my peach fuzz. I plan to repurchase. I am annoyed that the product dries out and gums up in the jar, but it still works when I roll the dried up gummy goop on my skin, just not as well as it works when it is still hydrated.

Works great
The best facial exfoliating gel I have tried. It removes those little flakes of dry skin on face, and on back of hands. I prefer this many times over to an exfoliating scrub. Gets the job done and leaves skin soft without feeling abraded like gritty scrubs. After washing off then I apply moisturizer. Do not feel product itself is either moisturizing or drying

Very Good …for blackheads
When I used it on my nose for blackheads…they seemed to disappear…if I rubbed hard enough. But the expense was not worth it. The same could be done with a puff.

Very good for exfoliation
This is almost as good as a professional peel!

Many thanks from an equestrian!
I bought this exfoliating gel last week. I was able to find it for a phenomenal price thank goodness, unfortunately I can't afford the website price. Nonetheless, I tried the gel today after cleaning my face off with a gentle cleanser. For YEARS I have tried "scrubs" and "exfoliants", anything you can buy at the store, I've tried. In the T-area of my face, particularly the area directly between and a little above my eyebrows, has had a very weird look up close. It's almost like super tiny micro pulling of "dead skin". Now, I ride horses 2-3 times a week, and the barn can be incredibly dusty as we have dirt arenas. That dust and dirt, no matter how hard you wash, will not all come off. Today, after using l'aveu, that is gone. I'm absolutely ecstatic, my whole face feels amazing but that t-area in particular feels almost "slick and smooth". No longer a dry almost textured feel. Years. YEARS. To find something that worked. I recommend this product 100%. I even used a very small dab on my hands to clean them, and they feel amazing now too!! L'aveu, thank you.

Highly recommended exfoliant UPDATE 10.20.24
UPDATEWhile I still believe this is a great product, the most recent jar I received the gel scrub solidified into a rubbery mass that is unusable. The return window is closed so now I can't even exchange the product, which I was looking to do.Will I order again, yeah this is the only exfoliant I've found to date gentle enough for my skin.* * *This is my second jar of L'Aveu Facial Exfoliating Gel. My skin texture and condition changed when I moved a little over a year ago and a new climate was dreadful for my skin. Using L'Aveu has improved both the texture of my skin and its ability to absorb moisturizer. The first jar I purchased lasted about 8 months, I'm assuming this jar will last the same.To apply I dip my finger in the jar and daub on my cheeks (x2), forehead, nose, chin, and temples. Then using a circular motion rub over my face. The gel does all the work pilling the skin and exfoliating the surface. There is no grit to this product. If you're looking for an exfoliant I highly recommend this one.As a side note, I do consider my skin sensitive and usually use gentle products and have no issues using this exfoliant.

Exfoliation: Best Product Ever
Best facial product I have ever found! Only need to use a few times a month to keep my skin soft and fresh. Let my Daughter use and she ordered the whole facial set within minutes of using! If you have a lot of facial peach fuzz (like me) use facial shaver first as dead skin cells will entangle in fuzz, makes rinse off a wee bit difficult. This product IS worth it!

Highly recommend
Y’all, I try so many facial products such as masks, exfoliating scrubs, facial scrubs and etc and this! I first heard about it like 4 years ago from sams club. The lady just kept trying to get me to buy it and try it and she was getting on my nerves lol so eventually I gave in and oh my goodness am I glad I did. It was a bundle of the exfoliating gel, moisturizing cream and facial wash and when I tell you, best product I have used yet! My face always feels amazing. Even my boyfriend just rubs my face sometimes 😂
