Ok, speed and pitch are adjustable, but can i adjust the beat to 4/4?

You can adjust it by yourself own.

I have one of these but it has died. Can it be repaired in the UK?.

It all depends what's wrong with it, of course. My older metal cased model simply wasn't charging. I found that battery deposits had leaked onto the brass contacts and covered them so no current could flow. I removed them and put them in a saucer of Harpic toilet cleaner for an hour or so. The acid in the cleaner dissolved the alkaline secretions and the brass terminals came up like new. Screwed them back in place and the Raagini worked perfectly once more. A great machine, but the volume and tone knob mechanism broke on mine and I can't find replacements.

Will the batteries recharge when the unit is plugged in the mains - like the old one did?

Yes, it does, would recco the Swar Sangat over this if you want the traditional metal body knob controls, regards
