Q: Does it have a partition to keep shafts from rubbing together?

There is no partition, but that doesn't matter for a normal length cue. I put my cue butt in on one side with the screw thread end in first, and unlike the product shots I put the front end of the cue with the tip facing outwards. That's to avoid the tip rubbing on the bottom inside of the case. It's a very snug fit, and the two pieces don't move around at all. I chose this case because I ride my bicycle to go and play pool, and was worried about a hard case banging my back. This case is comfortable.
