Consistently reliable, perfect tattoo healing product!
I got my first tattoo back around roughly 2014. At the time, Saniderm wasn't a widely used product. I lucked out in that my chosen artist happened to use it, and my first experience with it was fantastic. The tattoo healed quickly and well! Fast forward several years and I just got my 4th tattoo. This time my artist didn't use it at all, oddly enough, so I had to order some online. I liked the idea of having extra both for the future and just in case I messed something up somehow (yeah, I was overthinking it!). I wasn't sure if anything had changed in all these years, and I'm thrilled to report it hasn't! This stuff just works for tattoo purposes. I've never had any negative reaction to adhesives, however, so mind that if you do. Otherwise, this stuff is a literal and figurative life saver. No worries about washing or moisturizing or which products to use or whatever else. I have extremely sensitive skin and allergies to a LOT of things, but Saniderm makes it possible for me to get any and all tattoos I want without worry. As long as you remove it in the shower under warm water and in the direction of the hair growth, it's like pulling off a freshly applied bandaid. No pain, no ripping sensation like getting waxed, nothing but the sensation of it pulling off. Applying it to your skin is like applying a screen protector to an electronic device such as your phone or tablet. Peel the first layer being careful not to touch the adhesive underneath, apply to skin, peel the last layer off and there you go. Couldn't have been simpler, and there are clearly marked perforations to help you locate where to peel from. The only 'work' involved was cutting it to size and rounding the edges as per instructions. After removal, my tattoo is now going through its natural flaking process, but I avoided worry of infection and the initial week of healing and couldn't be happier with the results. If you've never tried it (and you don't have any known issues with adhesives), absolutely do! Either way, I can confidently say it's the only healing product I will ever use for such purposes again!

Second skin for tattoos
This second skin works beautifully. It had a nice edge on the sides making it an easy to peel and stick tape. We use this for several applications but mainly for after getting tattoos. My husband just got my ink done and I wrapped his arm in this second skin and it stays put. You need to clean and pat dry the skin. Then cut the length of second skin you need. Peel the white cover layer off and place it on the skin. Then peel the plastic grid layer off and press the second skin to the skin on your body. It holds for a week with showers and every day movement. With tattoos you will see blood and plasma come to the surface of the skin and then reabsorb. It is a large roll and covers a lot of area. It’s one length so you can cut it to fit where you put it. We also use it when going to the lake as the fish love to bite my husbands moles on his back so we place a small piece of cotton ball on the mole then place the second skin over that. The fish leave it alone. This is water proof and stays put. Great value for the money and amazing quality.

A Must Have for Tattoo Lovers
Saniderm is amazing. Seriously. I have a near-completed full sleeve of neotrad tattoos and without this stuff I would have been doomed years ago. For tattoos with heavy color or black work this stuff is gold. It (mostly) stops the ink and plasma from leaking all over the place after the tattoo, makes it possible to work, plus makes the day after so much easier to deal with. The worst thing after hours of tattooing the previous day, is waking up the next day to deal with not just the bruising/tender skin but also dealing with the dirty sheets or shirt with ink stains that NEVER come out. It’s safe and efficient if you use it right. Keep in mind, this stuff is made to stick onto heavily traumatized skin and protect it, so it’s not going to just come off easy peasy. Don’t treat it like a bandaid, cause if you do, you’re going to rip off a lot of skin around the tattoo and risk scarring as well as a lot of pain. Go on the website, read the instructions, and when it comes to taking it off, get in the shower. Trust me. Wash your body with low temp water, washing your hands and avoiding the saniderm, and then turn it down to basically lukewarm. If you can lower your water pressure do, and start from the very top of the piece. Try to slowly lift a corner while under the spray, and very carefully peel downwards. While doing this, I think of it as having to wash off the adhesive on the part sticking to my skin, go really really slowly and try to let the water do the work. It takes FOREVER for big pieces but I have yet to scar myself or rip off my skin. Just be careful, be sanitary, and go slowly and you’ll be just fine :)

Only buy if you want any easy way to heal your tattoo
As a tattoo enthusiast I had never tried this till I did my leg sleeve. I decided to give it a try because I didn’t want my tattoo rubbing against my pants. I also heard about how well it heals a tattoo. It did not disappoint!! It helps me heal without the worry of constantly putting cream on. I leave on for 2 days then take it off in the shower to help getting it off. After 2 days the redness is gone, and the tattoo doesn’t lose ink which I was so impressed with, I thought for sure it would pull ink out when removing but it didn’t. Love this product and with never get tattooed without using this from now on!!

Peeling apart sucks butt
Im gonna try off brand to see how it is. This is nice it works. But it can be a pain in the ass peeling it apart unless you're on the actual peel line in the middle. It annoys me. It lasts a couple days.

Made healing virtually painless
I got my first tattoo earlier this year and was so, so nervous about the healing part - would it be so maddeningly itchy that I would mess up and scratch it before it healed? Would it take forever to heal? Would it be messy/gross to deal with afterward? I went to get the tattoo with my friend and she also warned me that I'd probably wake up the next morning with ink or whatever on my sheets. After a few hours in the chair, the tattoo artist put some saniderm on me and gave me a routine to follow (basically, keep it on for a few days then carefully clean and put on a NEW saniderm patch, which she provided me, then if I wanted to keep using saniderm I could just buy a roll if I was keen on it and go from there). First, the saniderm she gave me kept my tattoo from, well, "leaking" anywhere. The seal was perfect. I could see signs of a fresh tattoo healing when I got up the next day and was really tempted to peel off the saniderm to clean, but I stuck to her advice and changed it only when she told me to. Can I note that this entire time, while it did itch a LITTLE, it was not nearly as itchy as I expected and it was so easy to keep my hands off it since it was covered? My tattoo healed super fast, looks amazing, and I'm convinced it was saniderm that made the aftercare so simple that I wanted to go back immediately to get another tattoo. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Going to echo my previous review here...
Do NOT heal a tattoo without this!! I know I never will again. There is absolutely no comparison. My sleeve work is flawless and each section healed to touch after 5-8 days of being covered. This saves you the dry/scabby stage, NOT the itchy stage. Your tattoo will still itch like the devils's fleas have moved in, but it will feel like skin after the first week and will be much easier to heal overall. Please buy it, you'll be so mad that you waited before. I still use After Inked lotion after removing this for the soothing. **IMPORTANT TIPS:** Remember that your skin MOVES and stretches. Do not stretch this to fit, place it and pat it down. If the corners are tight and pulled when you move that body part, it could peel the skin at the edge, because it holds that tight. You can help this tremendously by cutting the corners off, rounding them out with scissors. Put your arm/leg/body in a natural position before applying, do not twist your body part to see better to apply. Use a mirror or a friend! Do NOT get it wet and avoid sweat for a good hour or two after applying or it could come up. It needs to grab on first and then it will last for days. If an edge rolls or stops sticking, cut a 2-3 square wide strip to place over the opening to seal it up again. Same applies if your piece is too small Abd leaves a bit of tattoo exposed. Cutting patch pieces works just as well, this will stick to itself. For large work, it's better to use multiple (2-3) pieces and not one large piece. Small bubbles are normal and okay, but try to avoid. Hope this helps, happy healing!

Great stuff!!!
I read somewhere that Saniderm was a thing and after much research and talking to my tattoo artist I order it. It came the day after I had my tattoo touched up so I was kind of "wingin' it" but it worked great. I was leary of not using any ointment and sticking the Saniderm directly to my touch up so I cut the piece larger than needed and applied the ointment. The 1st piece stuck for 24 hours and then the ointment oozed out the bottom (gravity) so I cleaned and replaced it. Again I used some healing ointment (paranoid me), but less. This piece I left on for 2 days and then again the ointment was oozing out the bottom. Since I was going to be working in the yard I did a 3rd piece. This one stayed in place for 3 days. I could have left it longer but the tattoo was itching like crazy. I think using the Saniderm cut my healing time by several days which is a great thing but the best part was not worrying about the dog brushing against my calf tattoo or waking up with it hard, dry and sticking to the sheets in the morning. Not to meantion the ointiment rubbing off on everything. I will definitely use it again.

My Go-To Healing Bandage
I buy this so often that getting the bigger box just made sense. I absolutely love this second skin and use it religiously for my tattoo clients compared to other brands. I only ever switch if a client has latex sensitivity—otherwise this brand is solid. It’s easy to apply, sticks well, lasts through the critical first days of healing, and peels off cleanly without leaving sticky residue on a fresh tattoo. Highly recommend.
