They screw in, the tips are male ends. The red ball is also a tool for pushing like the tips. Check out YT, there are some good tutorials there.

Very Good for Fenders

This was really good. I took a bad dent and brought it back to 80 percent with no PDR experience. You need a PDR light and YouTube videos as a tutorial. The more you work with it patiently, the better dents will re-appear. This product is meant for fenders, and not hard to reach portions such as the back of the trunk, or side walls.
