How many 2-piece key chains is one getting when it says, "....Heavy Duty Car Key Holder with 4 Stainless Steel Key Rings?"

I received four key rings, two large and two small. The "two piece" means that it separates into two halves when you pull the barrel connector apart. I hope this helps.

How many retaining balls are in the female barrel portion. Some have 1, others 3. More is better...

I never thought to look. Knowing it works and holds snuggly was enough. But to answer your question, there are 3 ball bearings.
