Actually works!
Omg my dad can actually hear on this thing! It was so hard to have a conversation with him. Kind of heartbreaking how hearing loss can hinder connecting to people when you need connection the most in your final years. I wish I had gotten this for him sooner!

Perfect for my 91 year old Mom
The Ringer is loud enough for my 91 year old Mother to hear when she is not wearing her hearing aids. She also likes the larger display and the larger number buttons. She likes the answering machine and especially likes that she can listen to her messages from any of her handsets. The reception is perfect, no noise and even works well when she's outside. She refuses to own a cell phone, so she carries the handset with her all day and it will stay charged. She lives on her own and I am very grateful and proud of her.

Great Phone For Seniors!
My mom's in assisted living and this phone really solves confusion issues she has in disconnecting at the end of our calls. The phone can be answered by picking up the receiver and hanging it back up to disconnect. It can also be answered by pressing the speaker button and pressing it again to end the call. If not disconnected, the signal is loud and clear, letting her know to press the button again. We love it!

Perfect for elderly people or persons with special needs
My parents are elderly, have issues with memory, difficulty finding phone numbers in their cell phone, hard of hearing. So this phone was perfect. With a picture of their common contacts they a call people easily, they don’t have to fumble with the cell phone or remember to charge it which was the biggest issue with my dad. Now, he has no excuse for not answering the phone when we call. My mom can easily adjust the volume and hear every word unlike before. It was the greatest piece of mind for us, as kids to be able to reach them. My mom can easily adjust the volume and hear every word unlike before. And with the option to all the emergency button, one can program who gets notified or in what sequence when the button gets pressed if we choose to purchase that later. The phone was very easy for my mom to program. Well worth the money.

EXCELLENT!!! YES... RINGER VOLUME CAN BE ADJUSTED!!!!
I am very pleased with this phone system. It has a large easy to read screen and large buttons. I love the photo speed dial and call blocker functions. It is very easy to set up. Out of the box the ringer is very loud, but IT CAN be adjusted to a lower level by going through the prompts on the cordless handset. It does have a built in answering machine as well. Phone calls sound crystal clear and you can even boost the sound while on a call or slow down the caller's message while listening to your voice messages on the answering machine which is excellent especially while trying to jot down any notes or phone numbers that the caller leaves. You can even program in reminders for yourself. I have the corded/cordless system and also purchased the extra photo handset extention which works flawlessly with this system. I may get the pendant in the future. I have Voip over service from vonage and all features work great with it including call blocker. I highly recommend this phone system for not just the senior and disabled community, but for anyone who wants an easy to use phone system with large display and excellent sound quality. Also, I was not offered any free incentives for leaving this review. I paid full price for it and I would do it do it again in a heartbeat .💗 💗💗

Perfect Phone for Seniors with Dementia
I highly recommend the VTech SN1117 phone for seniors with dementia and have no idea why it's frequently returned. It's one of the best for the price, and I'm extremely happy with it for my mother. It's simple, well-made, easy to use and to program for the eight speed-dial photo slots, and the volume of the ringer is loud. After attaching a micro/DSL filter to prevent interference, which could be purchased here on Amazon, the sound is crystal clear. The phone could, however, be improved upon if it was expandable for another phone and included the DSL filter. Yet, because I use Ooma, a VOIP service, I was able to add Ooma's cordless phone without another DSL port or jack. Another possible remedy for its lack of expandability would be the use of a DSL filter with a splitter/coupler adapter to attach another phone or to purchase a Linx device from Ooma, along with the Ooma base and service. Either way, this phone is one of the best for the cost so far. I researched phones for seniors with dementia to the point that I was blue in the face, and the phones rated the highest for dementia are an utter disappointment and far too complicated for seniors with memory issues. It makes me question the motives/incentive of Alzheimer's and dementia organizations that recommend some of them. Many of their function keys are counterintuitive with unfamiliar symbols that require seniors with short-term memory issues to relearn the buttons for basic functions like caller ID. Even more, most have integrated answering machines, which is a wasted feature for seniors with dementia that results in more buttons, more telephone wires, and greater complexity for them.

Great for low vision and hard of hearing
Bought this system for my mom who is nearly blind and hard of hearing. She loves the amplification on it. She didn’t realize at first that it was announcing the caller id, but once she heard it, she loves that, too. It’s much easier to talk to her with this set, although she doesn’t fully use all the features because of her vision.

Great for seniors that have issues with smartphones and need a landline phone
Great large button phone. The programable speed dial buttons are perfect for seniors or persons that have difficulties remembering numbers or how to use a phone (such as stroke victims). You can custom the auto-dial buttons with labels or pictures. (size your pictures to .76 inches high by .83 inches wide). The optional voicemail does not have to be used. If you do not use it, the phone simply hangs up if the call goes unanswered. The ringer has an adjustable volume button, as does the handset volume. We are currently using this in an assisted living environment, and it has made communication so easy for all involved. It was a great transition from a smartphone designed for seniors.

Loud with many features
This phone has many features for seniors and the volume gets extremely loud. A senior might need some help setting it up though. Some features are also a little bit difficult to use for a senior. For example, there are many steps involved to look at the missed calls list. Voicemail is easy to use though once set up.

Good for Seniors
This system is good for everyone, even those who are not tech savy as once it's programmed, you can ignore all the bells and whistles and just use the SOS system and/or the handset & base like an ordinary cordless phone. I purchased this in conjunction with two SN7022 Pendants. It’s only been a day and hasn’t been in an actual use for an emergency but here are the highlights & pros: - Can pair multiple pendants to the phone. - When the pendant is triggered, the base will beep very loudly for 20 seconds so that you know you have triggered the SOS before it starts dialling your contacts. It’s actually quite alarming but good for the hard of hearing. - For accidental triggers, there’s a cancel button on the back of the pendant. - The pendant is big but light. - Can program up to 5 SOS contacts, the system will call in the order you have programmed it. - If the 1st contact doesn’t pick-up it will then dial the 2nd contact, if they don’t pick-up it will dial the 3rd contact and so forth. If it goes to voicemail, it will continue to dial the next contact as the receiver of the call must push a button on their phone to confirm receipt of the SOS. - When a contact receives a SOS call, it will start with an automated message saying that it’s an emergency and then prompt them to push a button. If they don’t push a button or hang up it will continue dialling the next contacts. You can customize the message. If the receiver has call display, it will only show your name as usual. - If your contact confirms the SOS call, the contact by default will be connected to the base speaker phone - handset can be used too. If the person in need cannot speak, the contact can still reassure them that they have received the call, that they’re on the way and the estimated time of arrival. The speaker phone is quite loud so if you’re in a single floor unit, you should be able to hear the speaker phone from any room. - Great system for those who may need somewhat urgent assistance but not full on emergency/ambulance services. - Since it’s a landline system, there are no additional subscription costs associated. This also means if the power goes out, the SOS system will continue to work (unlike other systems that rely on wifi). - This phone has many functions, there are many bells and whistles but you can ignore them. The handset can be used like a simple regular cordless phone, can program up to 4 speed dials (they are separate from the auto SOS calls). All you need to know are who’s numbers are saved to the speed dial buttons (we programmed the 4 speed dial buttons in birth order so it’s easy to remember.) - There are also 4 speed dial buttons on the base where you can attach a picture. The buttons are big and easy to push. - When dialling out, the phone will announce the number that was just pushed, could be handy for those who have impaired vision but it otherwise slows down dialling out. This will also happen for numbers saved in speed dial. Cons: - The pendant is only used to trigger the SOS, it cannot be used to communicate. - Had issues pairing the system together, especially the 2nd pendant but everything eventually worked. - No low battery indicator on the pendant. - It feels like cheap quality. I would not hesitate to buy this again for other family members, I would test the system maybe once a month to ensure it’s still working.

Seniors
This is a great phone for senior's. Large numbers for good visibility, easy to use and the volume can be turned up quit loud.
