Gear Aid McNett, tenacious ultra strong repair tape, clear

Given the high cost of this tape I was sceptical, but as I had a very large tear in my otherwise pristine Gore-Tex PacLite jacket I took a punt on it. Took a while to arrive (although within the indicated time to be fair and it was posted direct from the U.S), and there was only just enough provided to do my repair (it was a *very* large tear). I followed the instructions to the letter, prepping the surface with Isopropyl alcohol and trimming the corners to a curve. I applied the tape to the inside of the jacket, having first used clear Scotch tape on the outside to hold the material together as best I could. I had to use two pieces of Tenacious tape due to the nature of my tear. It has done a really nice job and you have to look quite closely at the outside of the garment to even spot the repair, it's extended the life of an otherwise still decent jacket. It's been about a month now since I did the repair and all is well with no sign of peeling so I'm hopeful about the longevity of the fix. I did spend quite a lot of time on the prep however and I suspect that (like painting) the end results are dependent on the quality of the preparation. It also probably helped that the Gore-Tex Pac-Lite inner was well suited to the tape adhesive. All in all, very satisfied and would buy again, especially as the supplier included a 10% off voucher for an additional purchase.

Top quality. Had to repair my son’s expensive down jacket after a rip and some cigarette burns….Excellent stuff. Stretches really well. Very impressed. Easy to use. Results were great. All holes repaired. Obviously invisible on a black jacket and I’m not sure if they do other colours. If not, you could always cut a cool shape and stick that on and make a logo of it….

Works a treat. My tent is 7 years old and has taken a battering with the weather in that time, and as a result has a few small holes and a tear to it. This tape is fabulous. It's easy to cut and apply to the holes and tears on the outer tent (I applied the tape to the inside of the outer tent so it's discreet). It seems to stick very well, and time will tell if it can stand up to the challenging weather I'll be taking my tent in. Only downside is that it is very expensive for the small amount you get, so I've knocked a star off my review for that. However, if it keeps up to it's claims that it's virtually indestructible, then I will deem it a worthy investment and a success :-) I now keep the rest in my tent repair kit pouch and hopefully I will never need to use it again.

A really useful repair product to keep handy. It sticks firmly and is ideal for repairing outdoor gear, clothing and fabric items - it did a great job on my Patagonia jacket that had a slight tear and the colour match was superb. Compact enough to keep in a camping kit or drawer.

Awesome for repairs fells like it will last well

I bought this tape to repair a split in some gore tex packlite trousers. The tape didn't even last for 1 ride. The tape will be ok if you use it to repair a very lightly loaded seam. It did not work for the trousers. I would use this to patch gore tex but not in any areas subject to the fabric being pulled apart a bit during use.

the tape was not sticky at all. kept coming off. even tho i have cleaned and dried the surface. it was only sticking to itself

I recently used this Tenacious Tape to fix a nasty rip in my tent, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it holds. The off-white color was a great match for the fabric, making the repair look much cleaner than I expected. Application was incredibly easy—I just peeled and stuck it over the tear. The adhesive is very strong and stayed perfectly in place even after the tent was folded, packed, and set up again. It feels durable and provides a solid, weather-tight seal that I trust to hold up against the elements. It’s a huge relief to have a reliable fix instead of having to replace expensive gear. This is definitely going in my permanent repair kit for all my outdoor equipment. Highly recommended for anyone who needs a quick, permanent fix for rips or holes.

I fixed a hole in a down jacket with this. One patch slipped inside the tear, and a second one overlaid on the outside because a bit of the nylon shell was gone. It's a tight repair, almost unnoticeable, and it feels like it'll last as long as the garment (years).

Product works well used for repair of seams on goretex jacket. So far so good

Worked great to repair an aging North Face pack that I can’t part with and is no longer available. Still holding up nicely 6 months later.
