Looks great, works better
Great rain jacket. I love the 2 layer Goretex, it keeps me dry, allows airflow, and doesn't make the swishy noise when moving, of the 3 layer Goretex jackets. I'm amazed how lightweight this jacket is, and yet how effective it is at keeping moisture out. The adjustability of the hood, makes it so much more useful to me. I don't think this jacket would keep one warm in very cool weather, but it's not designed for that. I read somewhere that you can stuff this coat into the left front pocket, and it's true you can; but it's not designed for doing that and the pocket's zipper is non-functional when it's inside out, so it leaves an open pouch. I don't recommend doing that. Buy a small stuff sack if you must. I highly recommend this jacket, very lightweight and functional, and looks great as well!

Fit, waterproof, wind proof, durable, beautiful
I didnโt have time to take a picture but the fit is just right. Iโm 5โ6 140lbs and the small size is enough to have fleece hoodie. Not too baggy when wearing alone. ORโs fabric is really soft compare to other brand with goretex pac lite. I really love it.

OR quality product - with some concerns
A bit on the small side; recommend sizing up. Colours just as advertised. All seams sealed. Fabric seems a bit 'thin' and am concerned about it not being strong enough to resist tearing on wilderness hikes- but otherwise is very well made. Sleeves are nice and long. Haven't had a chance to test it in the rain but it is Gore-Tex with all the benefits and faults of that fabric.

Outstanding hard shell jacket/Fantastic pit zips!
I researched quite a lot before settling on this hard shell jacket. First of all, Outdoor Research is a topnotch brand with a reputation for quality. This jacket fits well, and is roomy enough to layer a soft shell jacket underneath in addition to my base layer and grid fleece shirt. The hood could be improved with more of a bill, but I wear a billed Gore-Tex rain cap underneath it for maximum visibility and to shade my eyes. The pit zips are awesome and run from armpit all the way through the jacket's hem. This allows one to ventilate as if wearing a poncho when working hard going uphill with a large backpack. This makes up for the one design oversight which is the collar. When not completely zipped up the collar forms a funnel for rain. If zipped completely the coverage is excellent but heat can really build up inside the jacket. The pit zips make up for this. The saying in winter hiking is "if you sweat, you die". Overall this is an excellent jacket that will be in my backpack in every season.

Good Mountaineering jacket.
Wore this to the top of Mt. Fuji. Packed down small and weighs little. The side zips were great to keep the wind off and the body heat down. Once we reached the summit it was snowing and while zipped down and hood on it keep me comfortably warm. The hood is nice and large to either adjust to size or wear a toboggan under. Had some light rain on the way down the mountain and the rain just beaded and rolled off. Seams are well done and expect this one to last. Outdoor Research got this one right.
