I purchased this device to help a 97 year old loved one get in and out of a car and for transferring from chairs, sofa, bed and toilet at home. The device is quite ingenious and it works very well and smoothly. It comes with two different lifting seats: a tough fabric seat for general transfers and a commode seat for toilet use. An excellent feature of this device is that almost everything is adjustable which means it can be made to work in many different situations. The base legs can be narrowed and widened to fit in tighter spaces or outside the wheels of a wheelchair. The arm rests can be lengthened so the person can be set more deeply into a car which is particularly useful when trying to move the person on to a car seat in a larger vehicle such as a van or SUV. The lifting seats can be adjusted in height giving the device more flexibility in lifting from different furniture types. The device easily lifts my loved one high enough to transfer into the front passenger seat of a van. My loved one feels safe and comfortable using this device and it feels stable and strong. The wheels can be locked to prevent movement when loading and unloading. The device disassembles in seconds with nothing needed to be unscrewed, so it is very easy to carry along in the car and deploy quickly for use at a stop.

I had high hopes that this would help me transfer my husband as I am 84 years old. The product did not work with his wait (216) It would topple over if someone was not helping to balance it. I should have tried to send it back, but I didn't. My fault.
