Does the jelly bag work to sieve gin

If you make sloe or other fruit gins, you need to separate the fruit from the liquid before bottling. Hence straining gin.

Does this jelly bag have an elasticated top?

Yes, bought as a spare. This strainer is brilliant, fits easily onto a collection bowl and so very cheap

has anyone tried this bag with hot liquids? Is it OK at temperature?

I have used it while making damson jam in order to catch the stones so liquid pretty hot and nothing melted.

How strong are the seams on the bag. I like to squeeze the juice out from the fruit but have no seeds.

Hi, the bags are strong enough to squeeze the fruit juice out by hand. However I wouldn't recommend doing that as your juice will end up with minute parts of the solid parts of the fruit. It will set cloudy to look at. I leave mine dripping out over night into a basin. Hope that answers your question.
