A must-have for parents
This book is amazing. It covers really important topics about child safety and secrets that kids shouldn’t keep, especially in situations like grooming. The way it explains things is simple and powerful, and the illustrations are just right—strong but not upsetting for kids.If you want to talk to your kids about tricky stuff but don’t know how, this book does it all. Every parent should have it, and I think every child should read it too. It’s a great tool to help keep kids safe and give them confidence.

Very effective book for promoting discussion and awareness of such a sensitive subject, without scaring the child.
Very good book, allowing parents to discuss a very sensitive subject with their children in a safe way. I like the fact that the book has discussion points at the back, and questions to ask the children, such as "Why did little Alfred feel he couldn't tell his Mum?". I read it to my boys (7 and 5), separately, then a few weeks later, together, and they both understand about secrets that make you uncomfortable should never be kept. A friend was in the house recently, as I was reading this book to the boys, and afterwards she told me that it was a wonderful thing to discuss with them at such a young age. At their age, she was abused in a similar way to Alfred in this book, and she didn't have the language to talk about it with her parents, so kept quiet. That, alone, makes me very happy with this book, and I'd recommend it to other parents who want to broach the subject with their children.

Beautifully and sensitively written story for children about a difficult subject
This book is well written and provides pertinent points of sexual abuse in a sensitive way. It is a very difficult subject to explain to a child but this book illustrates this beautifully and provides parents with a tool to expand and discuss the topic without scaring a child. I am very impressed and would recommend the book to other parents without reservation.I think it would be suitable for most children up to the age of 12 years.

Well worth a read and family discussion
I think this was an interesting book to read with kids (4,7&8). They understood the story and we had lots discussions around secrets and manipulation by other people. It hasn't stuck with them as much as the messages in the other books.. But would be a good one to revisit.

Every child must read.
This is a brilliant book to help children understand what is appropriate and inappropriate touch. My son loves it and I think you fully understands what is okay and what isn’t okay. Perhaps best suited to boys
