Great figure, solid and the original van version alt mode.

If I could start again and only could buy one series - it would be the 86 movie studio series. Excellent representation of the character, easy to transform and adjust pose. Similar height to the masterpiece range so fits in nicely with this collection. The cost is not crazy expensive like some of the othe ranges My only niggle is sometimes there is a fleck of paint in the wrong place - bit of white on wreckgars brown moustache for example but not noticeable a meter away Definitely worth while getting, for younger kids to play with as not hard to transform but also perfect for the adult collector I hope you found this review helpful

Why has it taken Hasbro so long to make this figure, a decent toy of the 1984 animation model. Yes it is a little expensive and year there is to much transparent plastic but man this is a great collectors figure, as a toy it will probably break way to easy though. This is a must for all you Autobot fans from the 80's

Was as expected

Ironhide looks great in both robot mode and van mode but he maybe a little difficult to transform to fit together sometimes he comes with 1 blaster

This is a decent Ironhide transformer closely resembling the character from the 80s cartoon. Not quite as good as the masterpiece edition but better than the original 80s version which was just awful.

Absolutely brilliant Transformer. Only the first transforming step from van to robot is a bit tricky.

Ironhide toys have had a hard evolution. The initial toy was nothing like the 80s show. The War For Cybertron line addressed many issues, but when the earthrise vanette variation came out, Ironhide's feet were sticking off the back of the vehicle. Prior to this figure, if you wanted a cartoon accurate Ironhide, you were going to have to pay for a masterpiece grade version that was great, but not in scale with the other toys(unless you collected a lot of masterpiece grade versions). Here we finally have Ironhide done right. Ironhide is about as perfect as I can picture him being in robot mode. Articulation means that you can pose this dynamic, energetic, and active character as he appeared in the show and movie without compromise. He dual wields his pistols like the true gunfighter he is. Ironhide looks very good as a vanette. No "partsforming" is involved in the transformation. The pistols can be stored either on the bottom of the van or pegged into the top. The only minor issue concerns molded details on the van that have no color. The strip is molded on the side, but has no color. The back of the vanette has a solid red "window" while all the other windows on the vanette are transparant blue plastic. The rear bumper is at least painted silver. I may end up purchasing a third party stick sheet to address this issue, but this is really the only issue I see with the figure. Overall a great figure. Fans of the 80s show will be extremely pleased that this character finally got a worthy treatment at a great price point.
