Manic Panic Semi Permanent Blue Moon Hair Dye, 4 oz

Obsessed with this color!!! I love to play around with my hair color and I used this and blended it with a deeper fuchsia color this time and it made for a beautiful fade!! Its the bright pink color on the ends!

so red and it glows if you have red/pink/orange led's!! the tiniest almost imperceptible touch orangey if you're super super picky but it is firetruck red even after shampooing and high heat (490f cause i have very thick hair) highly recommend!! i used a jar and a half for 4b/3c shoulder length hair and put the rest in a bottle of conditioner to keep my color vibrant after washes. it will stain EVERYTHING so use vaseline before hand because alcohol wipes can only do so much, and if you're fair skinned i can imagine you will look like a lobster if you dont protect your skin lol I pre lightened with level 30 developer and i started at around a level 4-6 (darkish brown with red understones) and went straight in with the manic panic on towel dried hair

Judging from the pictures of people's hair I had seen the color seemed to be a light fluorescent purple, but it came out closer to magenta in my hair. It's likely I didn't bleach enough (my hair was still quite yellow, not white, as I have very dark almost black hair naturally). Not what I had intended but it still looked good. Went well with my olive complexion. The first round I mixed it with Virgin Snow and it didn't seem to dye dark enough, but was much more satisfied with the Mystic Heather on it's own. Lasted about two weeks, as can be expected. Didn't dry out my hair, easy to apply. I'm not in love but I'm pretty satisfied.

while the color in-jar looks almost purple, this dye (which if you've never used manic panic is full of hair repairing oils and can be left in for literally any amount of time - I usually stick to 1.5-2 hours - and leaves your hair soft and ready to style. definitely use color safe heat protectors if you're a curler or straightener type of person. anyways, the color in the jar is slightly misleading. the color I reached was a foresty to appley green. after dyeing it remains a deeper green but as it loses its intensity it fades to a Kelly sort of green. I've touched up once since the first dye which was just over a month ago. seems to be one of the more lasting of the manic panic line (I've used about half of their current color palette) and didn't stain like I expect green hair dye would. overall, probably my favorite manic panic experience, and I would definitely recommend this color.

I LOVE Manic Panic brand! If you are new to dying your hair fun colors, you MUST know, that these are SEMI-permanent dyes, and they WILL WASH OUT with EVERY single hair wash! The depth of the color on your hair depends on your hair type (course, thin, thick, etc) and color (lighter hair will hold the initial color closer to what you see in the container as opposed to darker hair). The hair follicle will only absorb so much dye (the smaller pigment colors) and deposit the remaining on the outter "shell" of your hair. Each wash, the dye will gradually come out, so I recommend utilizing either with a pigment enriched shampoo, or DIY and add a small amount of the dye into your shampoo that you wash with. Also, wash your hair sparingly (2-3 times a week) and use dry shampoo in between. Tips aside, Manic Panic brand is fantastic, fun, easy to clean up, and safe on your hair while conditioning. I can leave this in my hair for hours (which I literally do) and it won't do damage because the color does not permeate the hair, only sits on it. The reviews saying this washes out fast - please see above. Proper care and understanding of how color works on the hair is imperative to satisfaction of this product. Also, I often mix my colors, the color you see the dye is what it will look like on your hair (give or take a few shades based on the starting color of your hair). This review is for Plum Passion. I was very skeptical of this because of the reviews on this color, but I really wanted purple hair and needed a fragrance free formula that was more of a plum purple than a royal one. I'm thrilled with the results! I colored over virgin dark brown hair and everyone can tell it's purple, even inside. While it's obvious, it's not so bold as to be off-putting at work, and the color is very flattering for my pale, cool-toned skin. The color really brings out the green in my eyes too! I had virgin hair, and all I did to prep was wash my hair with soap and not conditioner. When my hair was completely dry, I saturated it with the dye, wrapped it in a towel, and slept on it. The next morning, I rinsed until the water was clear, and have had no issues at all with dye rubbing off, even on a white pillow case. I have very very thick shoulder length hair, and I used about half of the jar. I also dyed my eyebrows and found that the dye came off of my skin after the first day, but stayed on my eyebrows very nicely. I will absolutely keep ordering this color, and will be experimenting with more Manic Panic colors to compliment it while I figure out upkeep. If the dye is rubbing off, I recommend rinsing more - until the water is completely clear. The color hasn't faded during week 1, but because it's an unnatural color without harsh chemicals, I completely expect to have upkeep every week or two. That's par for the course with unnatural hair colors, especially with a vegan formula and no bleach, and given how cheap Manic Panic is and how easy the application process is, it doesn't bother me one bit.

This is the richest shade of semi-permanent purple that I have used. (Truth: I like to mix 1/3 Arctic Fox Purple AF and 2/3 Manic Panic Ultra Violet in a small bowl. But Manic Panic alone is just fine.) The process takes me all of 15 minutes including moving things around in the bathroom and putting on rubber gloves. I re-apply every two weeks or so because I prefer a brilliant color. (I've gone weeks longer and the shade fades nicely.) I stick my gloved fingers in the dye, transfer some from right hand to left, and using finger tips I apply it somewhat haphazardly on top, sides, and back. I don't try to cover up all my natural white (I'm almost 83). I wait 15 or 20 minutes, then rinse in lukewarm/coolish water for 5 minutes before applying a couple tablespoons of Olaplex #3. After another 10-15 minutes I shampoo. Every day I hear "I love your hair!" from women and men, young and old. It's fun to give people something to smile about.

I'm honestly shocked at the reviews that said this didn't stick in their hair. It stuck, and I mean stuck, to mine much longer than I anticipated. I had dark brown hair with sort of a blonde balayage/highlights thing going on. I left the dye in for 45 minutes, 15 minutes longer than the recommended time - I did this because I wanted it to stick to my dark hair. When I washed it out and dried my hair, I could see the purple but it wasn't terribly noticeable. I actually really liked it because my dark brown looked almost black, and the blonde was a dark purple and I loved the combination. It also smelled really nice after the first wash, which I wasn't used to for unnatural hair dyes. It didn't rub off too much on my clothes that first night, and the dye was pretty easy to get off my skin. Fast forward to the next day and back to my normal shower routine. This stuff bleeds and stains and makes a mess. I have purple splatter stains all over my tub and wall. But that's the price you pay for unnatural hair color! After this wash, the dye does as promised and gets a little lighter. I kind of wished I dyed my hair a few days earlier because THIS color was the purple I was looking for. It was more vibrant and stood out more since it was a bit lighter. Fast forward a few more washes - I was expecting this stuff to be gone within 1.5 weeks with some hot water/heavy shampooing routines. That did not happen. The dye transformed with each wash and I've been pleasantly surprised with the colors. I'm almost two weeks in now and it's still a vibrant purple with some strands a little lighter, and some almost magenta. It's like a purple rainbow of colors, something I couldn't get if I tried. It's no longer staining my tub, that ended after about 2-3 days. It's not rubbing on my skin or clothes either. I was expecting this stuff to fade fast due to some reviews, the fact that my hair wasn't bleach blonde, and also due to the unnatural color. This stuff stuck better than some professional dye jobs. I am for sure using this brand again for fun colors.

Cuando vi el embase me asusté porque me pareció muy pequeño, pero pensé que al tener el pelo corto sería suficiente para mi. Al abrirlo el color me pareció algo oscuro y por eso mezclé más o menos la mitad con acondicionador de pelo. Mi pelo debajo era rubio claro ceniza en mechas y rubio oscuro en la raíz (para que tengan una referencia) El color ha quedado intenso y brillante y el pelo me ha quedado súper suave. Vamos, que me encanta. Se irá aclarando con los lavados, pero tengo la otra mitad para hacerme mascarillas con el color de vez en cuando para que aguante más tiempo. Muy recomendable este color. Es atrevido, pero me gusta mucho. 5 estrellas!

Lo he usado para un mechón de mi hija. Previamente hay que decolorarlo y aún así necesité un par de capas. El color quedé genial pero ha durado dos lavados y luego ya se queda color azul que también es bonito pero vamos, que no dura apenas lavados. Eso si, como era para un mechón el bote me dura para varias veces.

Es una marca que me encanta y siempre me han funcionado los colores, salvo este, tengo el cabello muy decolorado y debería funcionar, pero el color no ha cogido, es como si no me hubiera puesto nada...se ve el tono amarillento del decolorado pero no se queda blanco. :S
