If you put ¼ teaspoon in a glass of water, you might notice that the water tastes ever so subtly sweeter, but it still tastes completely like water. If you didn’t know it was there, you’d probably never notice it. Frankly, it makes the water taste “fresher.”The packaging advises taking ¼ teaspoon one to three times a day. Each ¼ teaspoon contains 1 g (1000 mg) of glycine. There are 454 servings of glycine in every one-pound container. Thus if you were to take three, ¼ teaspoons/day, this bottle would last 151 days. This 3g/day dosage is consistent with what I’ve learned through internet research and it is what I’ve been doing.I started taking glycine because I learned that it might be strongly associated with prolonging life. It is already known to help with sleep, wound healing, and joint pain. Science has only recently come around to recognizing that glycine should be considered a semi-essential amino acid. Humans can manufacture glycine in their livers from other amino acids, but the modern diet often means that humans are slightly glycine deficient. I rely on this stuff for a good night's sleep. It's sweet so I mix it into my nighttime tea. I would have given it 5 stars but there is a tolerance that builds over time. For the first 6 months or so of taking it, I felt like I was sleeping like a teenager again. Now I often have to take a booster in the middle of the night, so I also buy the 1,000mg capsules and keep them by my bedside. It's also useful as mild support for calming the nerves.

I take 3g before bedtime for better sleep. I also take magnesium, then.Take up to 10g per day (with some vitamin C) for improved collagen production.

Easy to take and helps me sleep. I mix with water 1/2 hour before bedtime and I fall asleep easily and sleep most of night.

It’s supposed to be a precursor to both insulin and collagen. After 3.5 months, I think it’s helping stabilize blood sugar (my a1c went down) as well as improving the quality of my skin. Certainly a more economical option than anything else available to try.
