How can I make it right if the alignment mark is not accurate?

where do you buy new bits?

Where to get US sized1/4” 3/8" bits etc?

I think it's easier to purchase dowels in a metric size then finding a boring bit with an 8mm shank and imperial banana cutting dimension. I use mine for 5-millimeter 32mm spread for hinge base plates and all i did was grind down the 6mm to 5mm. Hope this helps.
