My dad sleeps much better now!
My 92-year-old dad fell out of bed a couple of times recently, and was worried that sooner or later he would be seriously injured or unable to get up off the floor on his own. This bed rail solved the problem nicely: It assembles in a few minutes without tools, is the right height for his mattress (which is about 6.5 inches thick), folds easily to allow him to enter/exit the bed, stays in place solidly (even though it has no strap), and because the bars that go underneath are semi-flat he cannot feel them through the mattress. The folding action is stiff enough that he does not need to bother clicking it into locked position or using the trigger to release it (though he is capable of doing so) but not so stiff as to cause difficulty. The only potential downside was that the cardboard box it came in had developed a hole—presumably caused by one of the metal bars inside hitting against the end during shipping—that potentially could have let some of the pieces come out and get lost, but fortunately everything was still inside when I received it. Note that it's possible (but not mentioned in the instructions) to assemble the rail in two ways, so that it folds down toward the head or foot of the bed. But it's easy to remove and reverse if you later realize that you should have done it the other way. My dad loves his new bed rail and says he sleeps much better now without the fear of falling.

Good item
This item is pretty good, only thing I'm having troubles with is that when I go to get up off the bed the railing dig into my legs. I'm guessing it's cause my mattress isn't thick enough lol

Game changer
I had to try so many things before I stumbled upon this bed rail!! My son kept falling off his new bed and I needed a solution ASAP & this was it!!! I paired it with a wedge and ever since we’ve had no problems!! I love how you can put the tail down so I can change him and easily carry him out too without the rail being in the way as well like others that don’t fold down! I’ve had this for about a year now and it’s sturdy with no problems!! It’s also very easy to put on the bed.

Great for loved ones with limited hand dexterity
This thing is perfect for us! Mum kept falling out of bed because she could manage to wiggle/slide around all of the other barriers we put up, because they weren’t long enough to do full body coverage. And if we did get the ones that were long enough, the release to drop them down was only accessible from outside of the bed and required two dexterous hands to drop. It just wasn’t feasible. This one is long enough to support most of her body length, and it’s so easy to drop with her limited hand dexterity so that she can get out of bed herself. We were a little concerned it wasn’t going to be tall enough, because she has a very tall mattress (it looked like it only stuck up a few inches higher than the mattress), but by the time she laid down in bed, it sunk down enough that she wasn’t able to go over the top. Absolutely what we needed. Would have preferred another 6-10” longer and 2-3” higher, but it surpassed every other bedrail we’ve tried so much that I gave it 5 stars.

Perfect solution
My husband has Parkinson’s and struggles with getting up out of bed. Need a solution that would allow me access to him since this one drops down works perfectly. Don’t let them tell you that it doesn’t work with an adjustable base because it does.! We have a sleep number bed with an adjustable base. The only thing is that I don’t have it strapped down. I had ordered a different rail previously but I couldn’t reach him to get drops in his eyes. I searched and settled on this one because it is similar to the other one I purchased.

While it seems nice its actually very flimsy
The unit went together really easily. The workmanship seems real good however how it connects to the bottom underbed frame is very flimsy. It is not sturdy at all and testing it myself I barely lean on it and it leans out several inches. I’m afraid I just cannot trust this as a guard rail. I just know it will bend real easy.
