A rhyming ABC book that takes you on a journey through Filipino food, landmarks, and items. Visit B as in Boracay, eat L as in Lumpia, and ride a J as in Jeepney in this fun, educational book for Filipino children, or for anyone who wants to learn more about Filipino culture! Learn about Filipino Favorites From food favorites and beautiful landmarks, to colorful animals and historical parks! Fun Rhymes for Everyone Whether you're Filipino or not, aged six or one hundred, These rhymes will bring smiles to your face as they're read! Cute, Hand-drawn art in Large Print Size Cute, hand-drawn art accompanies the text. You'll always want to turn the page to see what's next! The Perfect Gift for Filipino Friends For new Filipino parents Or actually, it doesn't matter who! This book is a great gift for anyone to introduce Filipino culture to! Review: Nakaka Gigil! - The illustrations in this book? Absolutely *adorable*! We went for the hardcover version, because, wellโyou know how toddlers love to "test" a book's durability. Thankfully, itโs beautifully made, inside and out. If you want to read this with a toddler, keep in mind that the pages ARENโT board-book material so it will NOT be sturdy enough to survive snack-time fingerprints and enthusiastic page-turning; best to turn the pages yourself until they can gently turn it themselves. As for the content, itโs a wonderful little introduction to Filipino culture, filled with the best of our food, landmarks, traditions, and those uniquely charming Tagalog words (like โGigilโ!). I just know this will be a favorite, and I can't wait to snuggle up with our little one and read through it over and over (and overโฆ) for years to come! Review: 5 stars, love it! - Absolutely love this book! My son is half Filipino and I wanted something age appropriate for him to be able to read about his Dadโs side of the family. My husband also enjoyed reading along with him and laughed and agreed with the things in the book.

Great content for an ABC book
Most ABC books are simple- just the letter and a word. But this one had cute rhyming verses coupled with cultural Filipino terms! Itโs a great book to help kids stay in touch with Filipino culture. I wish there was a board book version. This book has very thin pages and a soft cover that my toddler would rip through easily.

Good overall, but does not use the Filipino alphabet.
Great as a means to educate readers on Filipino culture, but does it within the context of the English alphabet, so if youโre looking for a Filipino alphabet book, this isnโt quite it. The รฑ/ng page is awkward. IDK if Amazon allows non-English characters, but picture the n with a tilde that you often see in Spanish. Or look at my picture lol. Tagalog borrows a lot of words from Spanish, but the spelling often changes to avoid letters that donโt exist in the Filipino alphabet (e.g. banyo, panyo). It wouldโve been better if they used a word rather than trying to describe the sound. I bet you could find something cute to write about ngiti (smile) or something. Other than that, this is a very cute book! I learned some things myself. Gigil is a concept I hadnโt heard of, but one that is universally experienced.

Easy to learn
Bought this for a close friend for their newborn. As being part of their life, we'd like them to get to know their Filipino side by learning some Tagalog words!

A is for this book is Awesome!
Great and well thought out concept. Awesome take on a children's book and adding Filipino roots and culture into it. Purchased for nephew and got very nostalgic reading it reminded me of my childhood and memories from home even though I live abroad now. Would recommend this book to everyone.

Great content and cute illustrations!
This alphabet book is beautifully written and it has cute illustrations! Everything about the book is very fun and relatable - content and pictures. This is why it makes a great gift for children or actually to anyone who wants to learn about the Filipino culture. It's also an easy way to connect those who live abroad to the Philippines. Our son, who's turning 3, is already curious about the items listed in the book. We live in Canada and he can't wait to visit the Philippines!
