Versatile low to mid gain pedal
This pedal provides beautiful, crystal clear low to mid gain tones from almost clean with a hint of breakup to light distortion. There are two entirely independent channels which can also be stacked. Each has it’s own pair of hard / soft clipping switches providing 4 clipping modes (overdrive, distortion, both off, both on). Even with both off there is a lovely transparent break up on a higher gain setting. With all of these options the sheer range of tones achievable from this high quality pedal is incredible. Another affordable high quality product from Joyo

Another nice JOYO pedal
Very robust, great switches and design. As a new convert to Joyo stuff, I’m happy to report that this King of Kings pedal follows the trend of great value for money gear from this company. Their stuff is usually a clone of other pedals but they do a very good job of it at a very reasonable price. I now own the K of K, Vintage Overdrive (tube screamer clone) and Dyna Compressor (Ross clone). All 3 do a great job. Very happy.

Good budget pedal
Has a good range of tones but it's hard to get the sort of slight low gain tweedy grit of the American Sound pedal. I have replaced it with a much more expensive Bogner Blue Ectasy which suits my needs better but that's about peronal requirements: it's not a criticismof the Joyo, which may well be exactly what you need for crunch and solo.

Sounds good but with quality shortcomings.
Build quality is positive, a really nice metal case and it feels sturdy. The light bar thing is a bit pointless though, I'm not sure what it's for (each side has status lights anyway). Tonally it's generally good sounding. The clipping options are very subtle and only do anything with the gain set high. The taper on the volume controls is a little weird though - both volume and gain need to be well above half to get unity gain. The downside for me was the same I've had with other Joyo R Series pedals - the footswtches aren't mechanical, they're clearly pressing some sort of contact switch insde the pedal but both sides emit a massive pop when engaged. Oddly, I have the "Hot Witch" fuzz which has almost silent switching so it may be a variable. There was also some sort of annoying static noise in the background when either side was engaged which faded after about a second - almost like a noise gate kicked in. Weird. I did ponder tolerating the faults as the unit was decent sounding, but in the end the niggles were too much to take and it was returned.

Great drive pedal.
So I've had this pedal for a little while now and it has positives and negatives depending on your own use. I play in a covers band and I need a versatile drive pedal that can do smooth overdrive and double that! I usually have the right switch "A" set with the gain at about half and tone just above that. From a clean amp I get a nice overdrive tone with that side. I then have the left side "B" set with the gain maxed out and that gives me a nice distortion sound... Not too hot but enough for most songs... There are a couple of times though where you need even more... Just click both on together. Side "A" drives into side "B" and pushes it over the edge. I really like this sound, cascaded gain stages and it's got some balls to it too! You might have noticed the little switches... I don't like these. I set both sides to the one setting. The other setting has a massive volume boost, which you can work around with the individual volume knobs but bearing in mind there is no preset storage, if your knobs get moved in transit to a gig for example then you're trying to balance each side and the clean tone. It also looks like both sides are the same... They're not the left side has more gain that the right even when set the same. Not a major issue, it's unlikely you'd want both sides set the same. I can't think of a use for that. Anyway... It sounds great. It sounds a hell of a lot better than you could reasonably expect for the price too! Great value for money. I'd say if you're not into the super distorted rock sound then this is great. If you need a drive that can be pushed over the edge and then pushed some more this is great. Oh and the lighting is cool! You can set it to light up when you use it or just when it's powered on or turn them off completely but when it's in use looks the best to me.

Joyo King of Kings Overdrive - Very Nice!
The Joyo King of Kings (Dual Crunch) is a dual overdrive pedal, meant to give an analog sounding distortion. It can be set for very subtle overdrive (distorts only when playing more aggressively), or full overdrive, where the lead guitar has a very beautiful violin-like tone and sustain. I like all the adjustment options that come with this pedal, so you can customize the tone just to your liking. The construction, and even the packaging, are top-notch. Seems to be low noise also.

Foot switches go "POP" when engaged
Though the foot switches are silent type and they don't make a click sound, they make an audible "pop" sound when engaged. The most noticeable situation is when a reverb effect is engaged. Besides that the tone is good, at least for me, but I couldn't bear the "pop" sound every time I engaged the foot switches. So I returned it.

Great pedal
t’s a great pedal for the price, and it really does improve your tone, it adds clarity, presence, and that extra 10% that makes everything feel more alive. But don’t expect a true King of Tone at this price point. One thing worth mentioning is the texture of the sound. When I switch from this pedal to my Tumnus or my OCD, the tone suddenly feels cleaner and more polished, almost like a sound engineer tightened everything up. With the King of Kings, there’s a slight “busy” character in the upper mids, not noise or hiss, but a subtle frequency layer that makes the tone feel a bit more crowded. It still sounds good, but it’s not as dry or refined as higher‑end drives. Overall, it’s a very solid pedal with great tone enhancement, just with a slightly less polished character compared to more expensive overdrives.
