The drive was a replacement for a Windows system SSD that had finally given up the ghost after five years continuous heavy use. It was a simple replacement using the same slot and cabling. The complication was that being a Windows system disc I had to build it from a USB bootable Windows image and this all went very smoothly once I had reordered the BIOS to put the unit first in the boot list. Let's hope this one last as well as the Samsung that it replaces!

This is the second time I have ordered the Crucial 8GB Ram - I have two older Acer Aspire 1 A111-31-C56Q laptops, and upon replacing the original 2 GB Ram with the 8Gb, what a difference! The boot up speed and simply browsing the internet, the speed difference is brilliant. If you have a computer with low Ram, then this item would certainly help speed the computer up. There are videos which will show how simple it is to install - well worth it. ( Please always check that the Ram is compatible with your particular computer as there are different options one can choose from)

The memory module came quickly and carefully wrapped. I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 and had no issue installing the memory. It was not the same clock speed as the one it replaced (it is slower, 2400hz), but I don't think it makes much difference. It is more about increasing memory size, which helps load things into the memory, which helps with speed. Note that memory replaces your removable memory module only. There is a permanent 4GB attached to the motherboard (soldered?). I replaced the other 4GB with this new 8GB memory module, so I now have 12GB of total memory. 4 + 8 = 12
