Wow, I'm glad I got this! We refinished the tile on our 1940's fireplace. Someone put ugly 12" shiny tile over the original tile, so we replaced it with off-white, aged subway tile. I also found the original tiling on the hearth. I tried another style of screen before this one, but it just didn't work. This however is perfect. It sits flush to the tile against the fireplace. You can open the doors in an accordion fashion and still see the fire glowing. If you open the glass doors completely, the closed screen keeps the embers from popping out. The heat from the fireplace is excellent. We discovered that having this flush feature to the tile surface really helps warm the room. Our previous fireplace door had the hanging screen and glass doors and sat about 2 inches away from the tile...all that business kept the heat out. This is much more efficient. The other great feature is that I was able to assemble it like butter! If you lay everything out and actually read the instructions and study the diagram, you too can do it! I was impressed how well it is put together and the insulation is made perfectly - fits into the slots just right. Be patient, young grasshoppers! Anyway, I'm thrilled with the overall look. For whatever reason, it's like having an insert because of the way it's efficiently working now. I'm a happy camper this cold, cold winter. The ONLY downside is be careful when opening the screen...the little knobs get really hot, so if you expect that and don't hold on to the knob while opening, you won't whine because it wasn't made perfectly. I'd say version 2.0 just needs to put a hardier or alternative hardware for the screen door.

Wanted a slimmer frame but the either cost goes up or the clear glass feature we wanted is not available. Went with this one based on reviews. It may seem basic, but it does look nice and clean with a fairly easy install, (our handyman said he didn't read instructions until day of installation), as long as you buy some extra fiberglass stuffing if your fireplace door's wall is rough and not flat and you get the right size. I like the good measuring instructions and the great packaging and shipping of this. We are completely satisfied. The finish is great and the trackless bi-fold doors are smooth after a small adjustment, but the spark protecting screen doors are loud when closing them. I added a tiny rubber bumper on each door inside magnet and then covered them with heat resistant tape and now it's perfect.

Unit feels very sturdy and well-made, would definitely recommend. Nearly made a critical mistake by purchasing it prior to tile install, only to learn afterwards we had a 29.25” opening instead of the required 30” width. We were able to make it work by sliding in the lower anchor pieces before mounting it, instead of after. Highly recommend using YouTube to watch an install video, much more help than the install instructions - my only complaint.

We were very pleased with the fireplace (screen/glassdoors) insert. The installation was easy and much faster than we thought it would be. Well designed and sturdy. Very happy with the company. I would definitely recommend!
