The book can be helpful with refreshing you on a topic. However, the book is not good enough on its own if you have not delt with the topics in many years. Some topics will have example problems and some have subsections have little to no discussion. Old notes or texts books from school or online lectures will be more helpful to grasping the concepts.

I decided to purchase this book and do a self-study versus taking an online course. I regret that decision as I go through the book and find mistake after mistake, from typos to incorrect equations, mislabeled equations, references to NCEES handbook equations that are nonexistent. I get that the book is extremely long and a typo or two is understandable, but to find an error every 3 or 4 pages is flat out unacceptable. Especially when you charge almost $200 for a review book. It's almost as if the author rushed through this trying to publish it as fast as possible, with no attention to detail whatsoever. PPI's method of reporting errors consists of you sending it in and them reviewing it internally without getting back to you, so they are not helpful in this process. When I'm trying to relearn a lot of the complex material from college, I'd appreciate not having to deal with questioning whether what is written in the book is actually scientifically accurate or not. I'd strongly recommend studying for the PE using some other aid - this one leaves a lot to be desired.

The missing information when it switches from what the necessary handbook says to its own information is confusing plus skips between two different nomenclature styles. Very confusing

Same as an above review. First you start to see lots of little typo errors, which is forgivable. But when the example question solutions state what equation to use, then use a different equation, disagree directly with the NCEES handbook, incorrectly simplifies equations (it's algebra for Pets's sake!), or mislabels the variables they use, it becomes a problem. Not to mention they carry the error through the calculations, rather than it just being a a typo, such that the solution the book comes up with the wrong answer. I purchased this book several months ago but only started studying recently, and unfortunately I told a friend this was the book I purchased and I think he purchased it as well.

I just pass the exam. This source was not good at all. Too long, too difficult, and a lot of unrelated material. I don’t believe it is worth the money.
