The Panasonic GH4 Menu System Simplified Paperback – July 17, 2014

This little book answered many of my questions on why GH4 came out so quickly right after GH3 camera was in market. The speed of technology is so amazing fast that without a simplified booklet like this, one could hardly keep up with the latest progress in digital cameras. (Sometimes I really doubt if the salesmen of digital cameras can be knowledgeable and quick enough to learn what they are selling when technology is changing so fast with time). It helps to have a GH4 camera sitting beside you when you read the pages of the simplified instructions given. As some of the comments by others have already mentioned, there isn't a newer camera out there that is more advanced than GH4 today. (I think Nikon will find it tough to compete with Panasonic in the M43 market). That is why I hope the readers of my comments will realize that if they don't need a camera for taking advanced videos, a GH3 for still shots (and with adequate capabilities for normal videos) is all they need. GH4 is for advanced videos. I also recommend that before you buy a GH4 camera, it is worth spending a small amount of money to buy and read this little book first. It is loaded with concise and valuable information. (The owner's manual is very dry). I am not a camera expert, but I highly praise the value of this little book, owning both a GH3 and a GH4 camera.

A must have reference guide. I read this short book over the weekend and it helped me get the basics of shooting with my Gh4. I keep going back to it to find out just what a certain item on a particular menu does when I am trying a new shooting style. Written in plain speak, this book should be required reading for all GH4 owners. If you need to get into really minute detail you can always download the GH4 manual from the web but for those of us who are familiar with the basics of shooting DSLR but not familiar with the menu items of the GH4 this little book is a precious resource.

They're aren't a lot of manuals out there for this camera, and the fact that it is downloadable means it's easy to always have it with you for quick reference on your phone or tablet.

This is good. It could have been better. There are very few pics. For anyone new to this camera, and especially for anyone new to cameras in general it would have been so much better if it had included illustrative images.

This book needs to be organized as an outline. When you look at the page, it's hard to see which are main headings, and what are subordinate points. Too bad, as any major word processor can do that automatically. But, there are some good tips and hints. However as an overview of the menuing structure, it suffers.

I really needed something that just got to the point on the information for the menu system. This book does that.

Presentation was o.k., but a topical index as well would have gotten it 5 stars

Having struggled through the endless list of options in the camera on-line manual only understanding few of them, this book was a breath of fresh air. Without doubt, absorbing the carefully written explanations in this book will improve the usability of my camera significantly. It has the added bonus of being compact enough to be included in my camera bag as an aide-memoir when I'm on location.

Really for only the newest of camera users. No use to anybody interested in this cameras astounding video capabilities

Excellent short guide to get you up and running on your new GH4. Saves hours of slogging through the manual and you get the suggestions of an experienced photographer. After a while practical use may mean your workflow leads to slight variations of these original settings.

Very handy gh4 reference book! I found it very useful and not overwhelming with useless information! A great price for kindle edition! Well worth the money!
