The Ellipsis Manual: analysis and engineering of human behavior

What a fantastic book. Very in depth. I had to read no more than 1 chapter then take time to let myself understand. This guy knows his stuff and he has definitely opened my eyes. For example watching politicians lying on TV.. brilliant educating mind awakening book.

Love it! I'm dyslexic so it was migranes to crack the keys but after that everything's pretty much straight forward with describing body language. I'm not a cop but it's definitely interesting to observe people around me and get a sense. Highly recommend it for people who care about life and people surrounding them

I have just finished my first read of The Ellipsis Manual... mind blown! It is absolutely jam packed with techniques that can be applied in countless situations (have your highlighter at the ready)! I have read some reviews that describe this as more of a text book - yes that is true, it is a “manual”...but don’t let that put you off! Chase Hughes explains everything thoroughly and gives plenty of examples. I personally read the book alongside listening to podcast episodes/videos Chase featured on (freely available on his website, YouTube or Spotify). These added to my understanding of how everything fits together. I am a therapist in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis - where active participation - both in therapy and between sessions - is paramount. This manual individualised the way I communicate with each client, enabled me to pick up on even most subtle non verbal cues, and allowed me to gain compliance in therapy participation. Regardless of your field, if your goal is to bring about the best possible outcomes in the shortest time possible, this is the book for you!

.... I see deception everywhere..... I read a lot of psychology and human behaviour books. My favourite subject. This book is very concise and it's no accident that it's called a manual. Most books try to cover too many subjects so the actual subject they try to cover end up getting a little watered down. This book is very specific to 1 subject and even though chase touches on other subjects they are almost evidence rather than filler. The reason I said I wish I could unread it was I see his teachings everywhere.. Media, politics, TV, advertising which is fine but I also see it in family and friends. Even though I joke that I want to unread it, it shows how important it is to surround yourself with honest open people... If you don't or don't know then this book is for you... Cut negative, untrustworthy and deceptive people out of your life. Will also help you see if you are being manipulated yourself and who is doing it. I have recommended this book to so many people. A must buy for anyone with even only a slight interest in this subject but I'd also recommend to people in any kind of abusive relationship whether it be personal or work. 10/10

Great read, with expertise and wisdom galore ! BUT book binding quality terrible with lots of loose pages

Brilliant. I'm blown away with the amount of details in this book. So well written for easy reading and understanding. Packed with information on what to pay attention to and what to look for in behaviour signs. A comprehensive guide for anyone. Complete with easy references to follow. A true masterpiece and such good value

Most books I like to skim, this book was absolutely captivating and full of useful tools unlike any book I have come across. I had the pleasure of attending the live course too and completely blown away, he is such a humble guy. I was not expecting this at all, the principles in this book and his way of being have many cross over beliefs with a way of being, couple that with technique and you have a power beyond your own belief. You will also learn so much about yourself, how you interact, it’s not a self help book, however it’s much better than any I have read.

I've never actually written a review in my 13 years as an Amazon customer before. I've read so many books on hypnotherap, NLP and influence/ persuasion I've lost count! So many books offer so much but offer so little, you may think that The Elipsis Manual is just another in that line. Every page has something actionable, no filler here! There is something here for everybody, hypnotherapists, NLP guys, influence buffs or sales people can all learn more from this manual than any other single source. In my opinion behaviour engineering touches on all of these fields. This manual is clearly a life's work in the field, a Magnum Opus if you like! Bravo!

I've pretty much just got started on reading this book and so far it is really well written and explained. Highly enjoyable and knowledgeable. I like that he tells you in his book to journal and practice what you read, instead of just reading the book and thinking just reading it will make the information stick. This honestly offers more than a book that someone like Joe Navarro offers in his books. Chase Hughes offers alot of knowledgeable and skills to obtain and it's put in a way it's easy to understand. I kinda wish I started off my hypnotherapy/hypnosis journey with this book while doing my courses etc. Highly recommend. P.s. also this book arrived so fast, was delivered within a week. So I'm very impressed by the delivery speed.

Much of this reads as Neuro-Linguistic Programming and cold-reading technique presented as cutting-edge behavioral science. NLP's core claims have repeatedly failed empirical testing, and dressing them in neuroscience and intelligence-community vocabulary doesn't change that. Treat the dramatic capability claims with skepticism, and verify the author's credentials yourself rather than trusting the stated bio. There's real behavioral science out there, it just doesn't look like this.

From page 190 till the end the pages on the left have first character missing. I haven’t read the book.
