Glazing Kit - Xpert Chisel and Glazing Paddle

I needed to remove triple glazing units from new windows. The metal blade is very strong, and after the initial terror of hitting my new windows with a sharp tool, the beading started to move, then released. After a few units, I was convinced I'd bought the right tools. Recommended

I had a double glazed unit fail, the internal glass decided it didn't like being looked through so it went all crazy pattern with a massive bang. I covered the glass with some clear sticky backed plastic to prevent the glass from falling out until I bought a new glazed unit. You can look online for videos on how to remove the trim around windows but you need a sturdy tool, some people use a moon knife but most people settle on a strong scraper. The Xpert Chisel and Glazing Paddle are just that, a robust chisel/scraper that can be pushed into the joint between the window bead and the frame with minimal damage/marking then push out the bead and remove. Do this all the way round the window and remove the old glass. I used the glazing paddle only to lift the double glazed unit to help move it left and right but it worked well and saved me damaging the glass trying to use a screwdriver. If you are going to attempt to change a DLG unit change yourself, buy a plastic faced hammer as well (I already had one) and you are ready to go. Any good DIYer with the Xpert chisel and glazing paddle could change a DLG and save yourself money.

Needed to get the window out to get a sofa into the house due to narrow hallways. Previously used a chisel and screwdriver, this worked much better and didn't cause any damage so good result and cheaper then a window company.

Excellent buy, this was exactly what I needed when fitting a new PVCu back door. The chisel easily dealt with removing the old silicon seal on the brick work from the old door and the paddle enabled me to confidently toe and heal the glazing panels. This is the right Kit for the job!

Brilliant bit of kit. Perfect for the job that it's intended for. Double glazing bead can be tough to get out, not with this, razor sharp at the end to get into the lip of the bead, but then super sturdy to apply correct pressure. No bending at all. Really impressed. Best I've used and I did work in the trade many years ago.

First time using these tools to remove double glazed unit from UPVC frame. Like others have stated, it takes a little practice to get it right. If you are not very practical, you can easily damage the UPVC
