Outstanding, Blows the competition AWAY!
Wow. There are so many reasons as to why Dictopro's X200 stands out compared to other recorders in the marketplace. The design is incredible. Not only is it small and sleek (as you can see, it fits very easily in the palm of my hand in the picture), but it is stealthy as well. With the black color, it is hard to notice from a distance if it is set on a desk (as you can also see in the picture). There are many modes and settings that are included in the interface, in fact, it is actually amazing considering how many settings you can tweak. Microphone sensitivity is a very important setting, and Dictopro made it very easy to change these settings around so that you can record the perfect audio, regardless of the scenario that you are in. Recording is very easy, you can do it manually by hitting the button in the middle that stands out, or you can setup voice activated recording, which works very well. Worried about background noise causing the recorder to start recording at the wrong time? Don't worry, you can change the sensitivity for voice activated recording too. You can even tweak bitrate settings. Non-tech savvy people may find that they are hesitant on ordering because they may not know how to use the X200 to its full potential, but this should not be a concern, as the user manual that is included teaches everything quickly and efficiently. My personal favorite aspect of the Dictopro X200 is that you can monitor the audio levels while recording, it makes setting things up easy and keeps you from worrying about it not capturing the perfect audio. The audio is very clear, and exporting the audio from the recorder to a computer is very easy. I transferred audio files to and from the recorder effortlessly. It blows my mind that you can get a recorder THIS advanced for such a low price. This is UNBEATABLE.

Still Learning the Features...
Full disclosure. Keep my ignorance in mind please when reading the points below, premature as they may seem in some cases. Overall, so far so good. Things I noticed out of the gate: 1. It's smaller than you think. Like, seriously small. At first this makes you think it's substandard, because size matters, blah, blah, blah. But then you start to fall in love with the fact that it can fit, literally, in your jeans watch pocket. And to guys like me, not always wearing a suit, this is very handy. Any larger and it would be in competition with the six other other things vying for a place in my main pockets' daily inventory. So size does matter in this case, and smaller is better. There's hope for all of you guys out there! And yes, if you want to go stealth and record someone, this is the recorder for that, if that's your thing. 2. The sound quality is... I'll say so-so. My iPhone's Voice Memos sound quality is way better. But admittedly, I haven't played with the quality settings. Perhaps this is common knowledge, but I found the closer you hold the recorder to your mouth, the worse the sound quality. I was testing it and put it in my pocket and that gave the best sound feedback. I suppose it filters out more of the background noise. But until I play with the settings, I won't know for sure if this recorder has good sound quality. I also don't have another recorder to base it against other than my phone. But since this is a convenience thing -- I needed something for when the ideas start flowing while I'm out running or rucking and stopping to write them all down is an incredible pain the backside -- the size trumps the sound quality. Hey, it records. I can understand the recording. If there's a lot of b.g. noise, so what. I'm not editing a song for an album. I'm putting the noise in my head into a simple format I can refer back to later. 3. The directions are simple, except in a couple places where they use terms I found perplexing and they apparently assume you know what they're talking about. None of my friends knew. If a Google search fixes this problem, I'll edit the review. 4. Apparently it has a password safeguard you can use to lock it down from others' prying ears. I heard this on a YouTube video review of it, but it wasn't actually shown. The booklet is somewhere I can't get to it right now, so I can't confirm this presently. But if that's true, I understand that to be unique among recorders in the $40 range. So that's a definite plus. 5. Far as I can tell, you canโt just hit record and start speaking if the device is turned off. Must turn it on first. Didnโt like that. Might need to grab and record quickly. The button is hard enough to depress that it would never just start recording in your pocket, so curious why this feature is absent. Overall, I like this recorder. I'll edit this review if I find I can improve the sound quality/eliminate some of the b.g. noise. Hope this helps some of you on the fence.

Product did not work and SUPPORT IS HORRIBLE
I purchased this product on March 6th and have had the brand before and liked it. I received this item and after charging all day it would not even turn on. I initiated a return and took me days to get the return label to ship it back. It is now March 21st and I received a message from teh seller 2 days ago saying they closed the ticket and I never received the replacement. I get a message today saying they will eventually ship it out, but no way they can control the when of the ship data, but hey watch your email. THIS IS THE WORST SUPPORT I HAVE EVER SEEN OR DEALT WITH. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS VENDOR. They are not even making ANY EFFORTS at all to make this right and expedite the order. IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD!

Barely hear they speaker.must use the earbuds. Only picks up decent quality recording to a pop 15 โ
Itโs nice and small and feels sturdy and well made. Recording distance is good to about 15 ft. Beyond that distorted. Picks up background noise adding to distortion. Playback can barely be heard thru speaker so must use the earbuds. Not difficult to operate and itโs easy to conceal when I used it the mic portion was clear of any obstructions and not moved. Recorded a conversation at 3 ft apart.
