Great item. Easy replacement, but for combi boilers
Great item. Easy replacement. Boiler is in the garage, controller is approximately 20-25 feet away, with at least 2 walls in between and no problem with the signal. Radio controlled time and date means no need for changing for daylight saving - plus the holiday mode means you can pick 2 calendar dates.Control method is simple to use. There's a lock mode to prevent hands changing values by mistake. Some tips; If the two units do not pair replace the batteries - tried 3 times and it failed (no indication the battery was low). Replaced the battery, worked straight away Removing the blanking plate from the Worcester Bosch boiler can be hard - it's a tight fit, so once you've lifted it from the catches, twist / turn slightly until one side lifts out. If you are not removing the existing room thermostat, simply turn it up to the highest value so it never overrides the wireless unit - did the trick in my house Update 03/11/15 Hot water only comes on if the boiler is already on for the rads. A bit of testing and looking around and this is only for combi boilers - it is made clear on other websites, just not Amazon. So it's now going back, which is a shame as it otherwise works perfectly and is very good value

High quality boiler control - Perfect for Worcester boilers - Easy to fit at fraction of the cost
Amazing piece of technology; very easy to install and set up and far cheaper than a Worcester equivalent. I fitted this to my Junior 28i within five minutes - simple plug and play. There are YouTube videos that show exactly how to install this; on the boiler. The control unit can be fitted to the wall or free standing. I tried a few different locations before finding the most suitable for us. I've now fixed the controller to a wall in our hallway. The controller is very accurate and quite easy to setup. There is also a simple to use manual override which is very useful as my wife is sometimes off during the week. To manually override just touch and run your finger around the outer circle of the timer case (like and ipod) to the desired temp and press okay. This then keeps the temp set until the next program kicks in. I cannot praise this enough.

Great product for the price
I was excited to receive this is as my existing Bosch thermostat controller wasn't working properly and so I had to turn the heating on and off manually every time. What also appealed to me was the price of the product compared to Bosch and other solutions which were far more expensive. The product was relatively easy to install into the boiler and the instructions could have been a little more clearer in terms of setting times, however it was easy for me overall to setup and program with the times I wanted the heating on. Although the pairing the device to the boiler transmitter thing took 3 attempts which totalled about 30 minutes in total - I haven't had any problems since. When setting the program times you have to firstly set what time you want the heating to come on and what temperature you would like it it to reach and then the second part of the setting involves when you would like to turn it off which requires you to lower the temperature. For example if I wanted the heating to come on from 9 till 10 in the morning I would set 9 o'clock at 21 degrees and then to turn the heating off at 10 I would set 10 o'clock at say 5 degrees and you can do this for various parts throughout the day. The display is a little weak and I suppose you wouldn't be looking at the display all the time but thethe back light comes on when you touch the display. I had a normal thermometer beside this to test how accurate the temperature was on the salus but it does eventually get up to the same temperature.

Worth every penny (and more!)
The thermostat was quite a bit larger than I expected. But the good thing is that the display is very easy to read. (Large digits). Installing the boiler part was simplicity itself. I simply plugged in the little plug and clicked the unit into place. The boiler didn't fire up at first; but I correctly assumed that having removed the old basic thermostat, I needed to bridge out the terminals where it was previously connected. (Ls and Lr). The instruction pamphlet covered everything; and I'd got it paired and working within a couple of minutes. As it costs a about a fifth of the Worcester-Bosch unit, I expected it might be cheap and plasticy. - But it wasn't. The thermostat looks stylish - as it's not littered with buttons and switches. There's a very small locking switch tucked out of sight at the bottom right, and two discrete 'buttons' on the control ring. Actually, they are not so much buttons as small indentations. The overall effect is a sleek/uncluttered unit. Selecting the various settings is reminiscent of using the original Ipod. (With a 'ring'). I didn't need a set up which programmed the hot water system. - I just wanted a way to remotely control the central heating. - And it does that perfectly. Setting up a week's programmes is a bit fiddly / time consuming (as you have to enter times and temperatures for six programmes per day. But once I found the bit about copying; I realised that I needed only to programme day 1 (Monday); and then copy the settings to days 2,3,4,5,6 and 7. If reading pages of instructions isn't your thing, there's a YouTube vide that talks you through it. It does exactly what it says in the Ad. / It's amazingly cheap / It's brilliant value for money - and looks like something costing many times more. But I guess the best thing about it is that's it's pupose-built for my boiler. Other company's models required two wires into the boiler - and a live and neutral connection from the mains. Whereas this just plugs into the boiler, via a little plug (situated behind the unit). Where for years there was a blank plate - there's now a rather cool looking receiver unit. My boiler was discontinued in 2013, but the list of compatible boilers included it. But I was still a bit worried that it might not fit. I ordered it on Saturday afternoon; and it arrived the next day. So as if being a quality item / being brilliant value for money / working superbly wasn't enough - - -it also arrived on a Sunday!

Functional
Bought to replace an older unit. Installation took 10 minutes; relatively painless. And it works. Programming these things can be irritating, but a lot of thermostat controls are like that. The touch-sensitive ring is an attempt to improve UI which is *almost* great. The price isn't great, but what's the alternative?

A great controller at an excellent price!
We have a Worcester Bosch Green Star Combi boiler which was fitted with a time controller and basic RF thermostat. I'd been after a controller like the Salus for ages but they were all too expensive - particularly the Bosch ones! I wanted something that would enable different temperatures to be set at different times of the the day. This controller does just that and at a very reasonable price. This was as easy to install as other reviews, and YouTube clips, have stated. The most difficult bit was replacing the boiler cover! Both items were factory pre-paired so communicated with each other without any problem. The only issue I had was that the RC clock didn't synchronize so I had to initially set the clock manually. Since installation it's been working well. The programmable thermostat feels solid and is well built. The touch ring takes a bit of getting used to but works fine. Just a couple of very minor niggles:- 1. I set the time zone to '0' which is what GMT usually is but the next morning the clock was showing one hour ahead! (the remote control clock re-calibrates in the early hours of the morning). After this happened twice I set the time zone to -1 and all has been well since. 2. Up to 6 time/temperature changes can be programmed in per 24 hours. I would have preferred 7 or 8. We often feel the need for a slight temperature boost mid evening once dinner is done and we're less active so an extra programming instance or two would have been good. As I say, minor niggles in what has so far proved to be a very good controller.

Good and much cheaper than Worcester part
Replaced wireless Worcester unit with this as much cheaper. Easy Peary to fit, works flawlessly. Slightly strange system for setting temperature hanged but ones used to it is really good. Allows manual change of temp which then goes back to set defaults at next to R change programmed, which is good as you wonโt forget to put temp back to normal later.

Top notch
Now I'm not technically minded so my review won't be going into too much gizmo detail. I ordered this as a replacement for my Daughters controller on her Worcester green star boiler. Her previous controllers batteries had leaked and affected the boilers ability to see the timer. This was very easy to set up. Just remover the old plug in connector and plugged this one in and the boiler recognised the timer/ thermostat straight away. Did what a few reviewers advised and read the instructions twice before setting up the temperature and the times we wanted it on each day. My Daughter was definitely quicker than me at getting how it works. That's youth and technology for you. If you concentrate and don't allow anyone to distract you it really is fairly straightforward. It's been up and running a while now and is working great. The unit itself looks really sleek and can be free standing or wall mounted. When you consider that British Gas charge over ยฃ150 for a timer for this boiler this really is amazing value and a top notch piece of kit and most importantly it works!
