Smoothing + Shea Sleek Humidity Blocking Hairspray, 8 Ounce, Purple

GET IT! I can get a 4 day curl hold with OGX Smoothing + Shea Sleek Smooth Style Spray. Or a two day blow out if I sleep with my hair in a scarf. Seriously, 4 day curls with no special care taken to keep them looking great. The only thing I do not like about this spray is the smell. It is a really chemically smell when you first spray, thankfully it doesn't stick around too long. I just wish that it smelled as good as some of the other OGX products I have used. My hair type: I have multi texture and multi curl types. My top layer is a mix of 2B to 3A curls, and the mid and underneath of my hair is a mix of 3B with a few 4A spots towards the nape of my neck. I use a curling iron to get a more polished overall look, because I have yet to find something that can otherwise give a nice look with the mix of curl types I have. How I use it for 4 day curls: Step 1: Spray on dry hair and brush through. There is no need to completely soak your hair with product. Just make sure you are hitting all of your hair with the spray and brush. Mine is lightly damp and I make sure to get the ends really well for the heat protectant factor since those are the most brittle. Step 2: I section off my hair with clips. Then using my curling wand curl each section by itself. Unclipping the sections as I go, and give each section a brush again just prior to curling. Step 3: After you finish curling, you can leave as is or comb through curls if you want more separation. First and second days the curls are crazy bouncy. I can pull and tug and they bounce right back. I can literally brush my hair out then use my hands to separate sections and bring the curls right back. On the fourth day my hair is more relaxed with less bounce, but still looks very nice and still curly. Excellent value for the money. Since I can get 4 days of amazing curls with this bottle, it will last a good while. To blow out, I spray on wet hair brush through. Blow dry with an attachment (you should always be doing this, not just the end of the blow dryer!). The nozzle tip on my hair dryer allows me to also add more volume and lift as I blow out, while protecting my hair from direct heat. This product works really well for a in home Brazilian blow out. Since I do have naturally curly hair, I can only get a two day blow out before I need to wash and start over. And I do have to sleep in a scarf/hair wrap to keep the blowout for a second day. My naturally curly hair starts to take back over fairly fast. If you do not have naturally curly hair you maybe able to rock the blow out for a few more days than I can. Good value, highly recommend you try it out! Would be a good gift for someone who enjoys doing their hair and has never tried this product before! I was blown away with it. And getting a 4 day hair style is awesome since I have dry hair, washing and styling everyday just dries it out more. Pictures are day 1-4, video of the bounce back of the curls.

I've been using this product from the beginning when it was $7 then $9, disappeared off the shelves and could only be found online! The price has dramatically gone up for years and I still purchase because is the value for money to me! I typically use this before flat ironing to get bone straight, sealed hair. It doesn't just seal the deal for a couple of hours, no...a whole week! Scent isn't strong or bothering. It isn't sticky and doesnt leave the hair flaky!

This product works good for my short to med (growing out a bob) straight hair. It keeps it soft, smooth and in place. It also makes drying time faster! I gave 4 stars because the sprayer doesn’t work well-it just shoots a stream instead of a mist, so I have to unscrew the lid and put some in the palm of my hands to apply. It doesn’t take much product so this probably helps me use less. The box was crushed when I received the package so it could have been damaged in transit but looked ok. Otherwise, great product!

I love the hold of this spray, but there's a strong almost astringent scent to it. I don't mind so much, but I know some people can't do overpowering scents.

I really like this hairspray. Can't seem to find this particular one anywhere around me so was glad to find it on Amazon. Has a pleasant scent and does not make my hair feel stiff and get flaky like some others do. It holds my style well even if windy and washes out very easily.

Has a god awful smell but it works nice. The smell does leave my hair within a reasonable amount of time but its still icky to have to smell during application. For all the people saying it smells like perfume, WHAT KIND OF PERFUME ARE YOU WEARING???? Yuck

Love this hairspray - have it on subscription now! Holds all day and is very soft. You can run your fingers through it. I curl my hair first and spray it on and leave it on the ringlets while I get dressed and then just run my fingers through and sometimes spray again. Not sticky or clumpy! Highly Recommend.

Love love this hairspray! It works great in both humid and dry climates. Smells great and is not overpowering. And most of all had been the best hairspray to hold a curl in my hair in the dryness of Utah!
