great brace, runs big
I've had a wrist injury- issues, surgery, etc., for years, and have used several different braces. I ordered this one recently because I had some sort of tendonitis going on and needed the thumb splint. I wore it round the clock for about a month. It does the job; it immobilizes well. it's also the most comfortable brace I've ever owned, and is very soft on the inside. I would say it runs big. Based on their suggestion, the correct size for me was a large, so that's what I ordered, but I was just barely able to close the velcro straps because the brace was much too big. That being said, even though it was way too big, it still didn't shift much. With other braces I've used, I've had to readjust frequently throughout the day as it's shifted and the frame become uncomfortable. With this one, it didn't require any adjusting at all, even after waking in the morning. Definitely recommend.

Some adjustment of fastening straps is definitely required by the manufacturer
Having experience 2 similar falls when on each occasion injuring my left wrist and on the 2nd occasion almost tore the thumb off which required sutures I am now able to wear this wrist brace and will not venture out of doors without it. It not only fully supports my injured wrist, but also provides reassurance of not tearing my thumb off should I have a further fall. The only observation I do have is where the supplier only offers this product in small, medium and large, thereby failing to appreciate that there are a great many, such as myself, with larger hands and thicker wrists. Therefore I have had to tightly fasten the strap closest to my knuckles because it is at least 1 cm too short, but unfortunately this does cause swelling in my knuckles. It appears that the supplier does not offer a larger size than size large. Further, each of the fastener straps are disproportionate in their length for any normal hand, whatever the size of the hand. Put simply whilst my hands are fairly large, they are proportionate to my wrists and lower arm. However, the strap around the thumb should be reduced in length by at least 4 cm. I am concerned not to cut it shorter in the event it may fray My suggestion to the manufacturer is that the first strap from above the knuckle should be at least 1cm. longer. Further, the extra buckle closest to the arm serves absolutely no purpose I have given it a 5 star rating because (a) I was aware when ordering this support that it was only offered in size large and the fact that the 3 supporting metal braces fit and support the hand perfectly. The delivery was prompt and the item was well packaged.

Perfect. *Update* And uncomfortable. Lol
Works great. No complaints. Comfortable. Keeps my wrist AND thumb immobile. Love it. *UPDATE* After wearing it for a few days, my thumb joint hurt, a LOT. Tried loosening, adjusting, and shortening the amount of time worn. Nothing helps. The thumb adjustment is very uncomfortable, no matter how you wear it. I had my husband wear it to see if I was doing something wrong, and it hurt him too. Lol Oh well. Maybe we're shaped funny. Hehe. Gonna keep it for emergencies only. :)

It helps even if you are not a fan of wearing a brace.
This is a well-made product. I purchased this because I have de Quervain tenosynovitis and the custom molded brace from my hand surgeon rubbed in certain areas. This brace does not cure the condition but provides needed support and some comfort especially at night.

It Works! 4.5 stars!
I had a wrist and forearm brace which was helpful but it ended up in transferring the problem to my thumb. My purchase of the BraceAbility is recent so my opinion is limited. I noticed immediate pain relief from the BraceAbility brace. A plus is that the Velcro fasteners are well made(almost too well It seems when trying to undue them). The others I have tried tend to stretch and lose grip function. How well only time will tell. I have two concerns. The first is that the thumb portion is clumsy but it works. The second concern is the straps to tighten the wrist and forearm. They are what I consider too long. This adds to the sense that the brace, overall, is clumsy because it leaves long tails. Again this not take away from the function but it does take away from the overall satisfaction with the brace. However, all that is minor compared to the pain relief it provides. My pain levels were crippling and with the brace the level is greatly reduced. My problem will resolve within a matter of weeks so that the concerns I have are short lived.

good support
the strip to lock down Velcro is super thin, comes undone easily. The thumb space is very shallow so if your thumb is down low, you cannot slide piece down on wrist. it does have good support for thumb and side of wrist. It is a much better deal here than in doctors office, My doctor recommended me getting it on amazon and showed me which 1 to get. It has been helpful and helping me heal. It is heavy....but its stong.

Best of the ones I've tried
I tried this and the Comfort Brace. This one is better because it has velcro to latch onto. The other one would velcro onto the fabric and eventually the fabric wore out. The BraceAbility brace is pretty sturdy though a little bulk. I use for sleep it doesn't affect my sleep though it may take some getting used to initially. But the straps stay in place and has helped by carpal tunnel/ulnar entrapment issues to the point I have minimal to no symptoms when paring with stretching exercises, ergonomic office equipment, and stretch breaks during work.

This brace is top notch!
This brace has firm stability to keep thumb in place. I was offered a similar brace at the orthopedic clinic that would have cost over 200 dollars out of my pocket after insurance. This brace is not awkward to wear and is definitely worth the price!

Not as good as other splints
I had De Quervains Tenosynovitis. I ended up buying 4 different braces. This one was cumbersome and didn't offer great support.
