So far, this 12v 2A Battery Charger, Trickle Charger for Lawn Mower Battery is GREAT!!!! This is SAFE TO USE, this keeps the battery charged during "out of mowing season" storage. This INEXPENSIVE Trickle Charger can save you a LOT OF MONEY!!!! We had to buy a NEW battery at the beginning of a mowing season...because the battery went DEAD!!!! Well, I solved THAT PROBLEM!!!! I bought this...THERE'S THE ANSWER!!!! I looked this up in Google. Per Google, it IS SAFE to bring the mower battery in the house for the winter! We keep this plugged-up to the battery...ALL IS WELL!!!! THANK YOU, AMAZON!!!!

Bought two of these to keep the batteries in our truck and camper topped up. They seem to do the job. I'm not getting a full 2A output but that's not a problem in my application. The AC power cord is very short, only a couple of feet. The DC wires are long enough but the alligator clips are cheap and I don't think will last long under the hood of a vehicle. I replaced them with better quality ones. One glaring safety problem...no fuse on the DC output side. Never connect anything to a storage battery...whether it be lead acid, Lithium etc ... without fusing the connection. These batteries can deliver hundreds of amps into a short starting a fire or worse. I added an inline fuse holder close to positive alligator clip and put a 5A fuse in. Couldn't be easier to use although the way the LED indicator lights work is weird. Just plug it in, hook it up to your battery and in a few hours to days the battery will be charged and then held in that state by a small trickle charge current. When the right most LED is blinking it's in maintenance mode. The charger seems well made...appears to be reasonably waterproof...the wires come out through sealed holes. I just zip tied it under the hood near the battery and used an extension cord. That way it's not exposed to the weather. We'll see how they last. If I remember I'll update this review after they've been running a few months.

went to start my bike after 6 months last week - i pull the battery and bring it inside in the winter and use a trickle charger to get it back up to snuff in april. after doing that the battery had no juice - on a year old battery - so i though i had a bogus battery. tried for warranty replacement but it was out by a week. then i thought before spending 75 bucks on a new one could it be the charger / my old trickle charger was just that - OLD ! as a matter of fact 52 years old ! bought it in '74 for 15 bucks. i guess i got my money's worth. this new one had the battery back to life after 3 hours. best 10 bucks i've spent in a long time

Works as should I put my motorcycle battery on it for a couple days at the end of winter and then tested it with a battery tester which said it was 100% charged with full cranking amps. It is incredibly easy to use and comes with a decent length cord but I could see some people needing an extension cord to use. It’s very easy to clip on to the awkward terminals of my motorcycles battery as well so that’s nice.

I tried this on 3 different batteries. Desulfating a battery is a process that removes sulfate deposits from the battery plates and returns them to the battery acid. This can help extend the battery's lifespan and save money on replacement costs. To desulfate a battery, use a specialized battery charger with a dedicated "desulfation mode" which applies a high voltage at a low current to break down the sulfate buildup on the battery plates; this is typically done by fully charging the battery first, then using the desulfation mode for a prolonged period, monitoring the voltage and electrolyte levels throughout the process. Ok, so how is this charger supposed to monitor electrolyte levels? I have a battery hygrometer and sulfuric acid. Perhaps we are supposed to know to do this ourselves (nothing in the directions). 2.6V per cell seems to be enough to desulfate without (too many) adverse effects. 2.6V per cell is 15.6V for a 12V battery. When measured without load, the output of the device is zero...hmm. not sure why. I was able to charge one battery, but it went to its dead state soon after it was reported to be fully charged and taken off the charger. Perhaps we need a better charger? Or perhaps my charger needs a new owner!! Sending it back now.
